Robin Wright Penn Talks About Her Divorce

Robin Wright Penn and Sean Penn have been through a lot and I'm sure it's terribly hard to go through a divorce in the public eye. Robin filed for divorce in August for what just might be the final time. She shared some insight into starting her life fresh.
"New beginnings, definitely," she tells Redbook in its November issue, out Oct. 27. "For me, my career too. My kids are older now
She realizes they can't exactly keep their divorce out of the public but she doesn't feel obligated to share the details with the media.
"It never [feels good]," she says of their public split. "Yes, it's divorce; it's a given that it will be public. But … it's so disrespectful. 'You're an actress, you owe us this?' 'F--- you,' is what I say."
Asked if she'd remain friends with her ex, with whom she has two children, she answered, simply: "Yeah."
Currently Robin is keeping busy filming "The Conspirator". She's also one of the voices in the upcoming A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. I'm very excited about seeing that one in 3D!

sorry but this is the price you pay for being famous. to me its all part of the multi-millions you get for being in movies. AND you want the press there when you want to promote something! jsut annoys me that they think they can go into this business, make millions and still remain private. no, its not fair, but she is crying all the way to the bank
People who are in show business have narcissistic personalities. We can learn alot from their mistakes in life since they choose to live in a fishbowl. Yes, it is a choice they make to be in the public eye and they wouldn't be famous if people weren't paying attention to them. They can drop out of the business by choice at anytime. No one is forcing them to be in the spotlight. If you want to be a private person Robin, you're in the wrong profession. Whining is for wimps :(

You go girl.
Now it's HER time to shine. Robin is BRIGHT !!
I never thought she was like other female celebrities that court the press. She seemed to have gone out of her way to live her life away from Hollywood - even if she is an actress. She's no Demi Moore - thank god! You go Princess Buttercup!

I love her. She deserves to be happy. Good for you Robin.
As the great Bogart said:"You only thing you owe to the public is a good performance".And you can totally chose this profession and not wanting to be talked about in the media for the duration of your breasfeeding or your toddler's pacifier problem.See Jodie Foster or Meryl Streep.
"AND you want the press there when you want to promote something!"
Yeah Robin Wright is really the actress that illustrates the courtship of press. I clearly remember her heavy promotion tour for Sorry, haters or Nine lives. Oh and I forgot Beowulf. She was really in our face for this one.Oops,it was not her.
My punishment for not proofreading:"THE only thing..."

Divorce is hard, for everyone, period. There is no easy or nice divorce, there are no fairytales where it just goes smoothly. You grieve for the marriage you lost just like you do for anything that you lose, anything that is dear for you. Whether she is a celeb or not, she is going through a very hard time now and deserves her privacy/
