Bronson Pinchot Amends Remarks About Former Co-Stars Tom Cruise And Denzel Washington

Remember Bronson Pinchot’s less-than-flattering comments about Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington? Well, someone decided to follow-up with Bronson about his remarks. Although he declined to come to the phone to speak directly to the reporter, here are the statements he issued as “clarification.”

“[I]n hindsight” Cruise’s use of “homophobic language” wasn’t remarkable, but “actually unremarkable.”

And as for describing Denzel as “unpleasant”?

“I regret my choice of words there, and would like to amend my statement by saying I found his willingness to be ungenerous, unkind, knowingly hurtful both mentally and physically to myself and the crew to be the saddest misuse of stardom I have ever experienced or hope to experience.”

All right, then! Bronson also said he was “forthcoming” about his own faults, but no one was interested in printing that.

Bronson also denied that either Tom’s or Denzel’s reps had contacted him regarding his comments. You have to give the guy credit: he’s willing to stand by his statements!

    Well, that clears things up.

  2. Leelee says:

I am convinced that many of you who are commenting here did *not* actually read Bronson Pinchot’s interview and you’re just responding to reports *about* the interview. Read the damn interview! It was about the experiences he had filming with various actors; if what he said is what actually happened, why should he keep his mouth shut? Why is it wrong for him to express the truth as he actually experienced it?

Team Pinchot all the way. Yeah Right Im on team Cruise and Denzel. FYI Tom Hanks is actually despised by the Catholic and Mormon community.

  4. Helen says:

Wow, I’m doing the Balki dance of joy right now!!! (not really)

  5. as Bill O'Riley would say says:

    Pinchot – PINHEAD
Tom Cruise and Denzel – PATRIOTS

  6. Katie Bee says:

This man was a crackpot on “Surreal Life” but I respect that he stands by what he says. I’m tired of this wishy washy crap from celebrities where if they say something that’s construed as even remotely negative, they backpeddle like crazy. It’s like, you’re human, you’re allowed to have an opinion. Even if it’s not the right one.

  7. Anonymous says:

He needs to get a life!!!!! This is like lil drops in the ocean irrelevant.

  8. Anonymous says:

    Team Pinchot!!!

Dissing others only brings in the karma.

  10. DiBe says:

Have worked in Hollywood, met Denzel. He was polite and friendly. I’ve only heard good things from everybody who has worked with him. A black actor could not be as successful as he has been if he were rude. That’s just the way it is.

  11. oldschool says:

I have to go with Cruise and Washington. I dont respect people trash talking others even in an honest way.He ate too much bitter pills.

  12. bgduckie_01 says:

dont really care what he thinks since i dont even really know who he is.

  13. lurker says:

Bronson hero? please he’s no firefighter or a soldier fighting for our freedom. Bashing someone publicly is classless and low.
I dont like Denzel much but I admire actor and person Cruise. He’s among the nice guys in HWood like Will Smith,Depp,Tom Selleck,Facinelli,Clooney, late Paul Newman,Downey Jr.

  14. secoyas says:

Pinchot only made out himself as a crying trash compared to classy Tom,Denzel and Bette Midler. Why didn’t he say this 25 years ago?
He thinks putting down others elevates himself but so wrong; he only placed himself on GROUND ZERO.

  15. Chelle says:

    I really don’t care.

Any actor, whatever race or religion who brings in the money at the box office, can be as successful as he wants to be. I’ve met Denzel Washington once and he was perfectly nice but my friends who had to work with him said he was awful to work with.

    Patroits??? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

May I remind you how Tom Cruise denounced Brooke Shield’s use of antidepressants when she was suffering from Postpartum. And actually had the gall to claim that if she took vitamins and exercised she could overcome her problems. That guy is a major asshole and has an ego to match. All I could say is “run Suri, run!!!!”

  19. Anonymous says:

Tom Cruise would be a “class” act if he shut his mouth too. We don’t need to hear how this high school drop out “Knows” that psychiatry is pseudo-science….and everything else he “absolutely knows.”

  20. Anonymous says:

I love the people defending Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington, like they actually know them personally or something. “But they’re so NICE and stuff in interviews, right?!?! JUST LIKE ME!!!1!”

Yeah, right. It’s awesome that someone is calling those two out on their crap behavior.

  21. Anonymous says:

    TEAM CRUISE

  22. Anonymous says:

Balki sounds bitter whiner. He calls out Bette Midler and Tom Hanks too.Why didn’t he call them out years back. Its obvious he needs attention that will only backfire on him. Tom was young and homophophic slurs worked on a different era back then socially and politically.

  23. Anonymous says:

He actually said Tom Hanks was a lovely person. Maybe these things did not come up before because he was never asked these types of questions before. He answered the questions from the interview honestly and from his point of view. It was one of the better interviews I have read becaus the reporter was not afraid to go there and Bronson was not afraid to be honest.

  24. cinemagal says:

And I love that Z-list Pinchot had the right to crap on the A-listers as if he knows them intimately and personally. And those hating on Tom Cruise as if this few haters know him personally too. Talk about walking contradictions. He would have been a class act he didnt say anything and go about with his life and little career he’s got left. What our mamas and grandmas said you got nothing nice to say dont say anything.

  25. J.Mo says:

actually, he only had kind things to say about Tom Hanks.

  26. J.Mo says:

I have worked with Denzel Washington too…actually I haven’t but it’s so easy to say I have!

  27. Anonymous says:

Not surprised if the comments are true. Hollywood is about smoke and mirrors and well constructed and protected images for public consumption. I dont believe he was not contacted and threatened (strongly encouraged) to modify his comments about Tom Cruise by either Cruise’s camp or the Xenu. If they have the money and power to cover up deaths and shirk the laws then they can keep truth tellers in line…

  28. maiah912 says:

Interesting. Glad he clarified for us!

  29. DonnaJ says:

    Here, here!

  30. DonnaJ says:

That is an ignorant comment, Di

  31. Anonymous says:

He is saving face because the public see his moves as publicity stunt.

  32. anonymous says:

This makes me flock more to the movies of Denzel especially Tom Cruise.

  33. anonymous says:

Who cares what this man thinks.

  34. DonnaJ says:

    Damn LOL!

  35. KissKiss says:

This man should write a book!

  36. lol says:

clearly desperate and no one respects him

  37. Anonymous says:

    Bronson is my new hero!

  38. meme says:

    ^ me too.

  39. Anonymous says:

This man is an actor, not a star. His comments hold more credibility than either Cruise or Washington’s publicists. Go Balki!

  40. Anonymous says:

Hee. It’s nice to hear that someone else thinks Tom’s an A**.
