Heather Matarazzo To Play Jessica Simpson In Mangus
Heather Matarazzo (think 'Welcome to the Dollhouse' and 'Saved') has been tapped to play Jessica Simpson in a new comedy entitled 'Mangus!'
What - a movie about Jess? When reporters asked the execs why they chose to pick on Jessica, they said the story wasn't really about the actual singer. The main character just happens to share the same name. However, if you look at the story, it's about a girl from Dallas who loves to sing and is very religious.
Heather, a once hardcore indie film queen, will take on the role of a little white trash gal who happens to be named Jessica Simpson. The films writer/director Ash Christian tells PopWrap that it's "not an actually life story of the Texas pop singer," but damnit if it isn't similar.
For one, the film will shoot (starting Nov. 30) in Dallas, very close to Jessica's hometown of Abilene. Secondly, it centers around singing and musicals -- a big ol' pastime of Jess'. And lastly, the musical in question is "Jesus Christ Spectacular" and we all know that she loves her some Jesus.
What do you think? Too much of a coincidence? :) LOL - And as if this film needed more humor, Jessica's mom is being played by Jennifer Coolidge. SO FUNNY! Might actually check this one out.

Sorry but I don't get this girl. I think I've seen her in commercials or . low-budget movies before (or something like that). Jessica Simpson is much better looking (not that it's all entirely about looks) but they don't seem to have anything in common. WTF does this girl have to do with a Jessica Simpson movie? This girl looks A LOT more like a fatter (NOT trying to say that she's fat at all), shorter version of Nicky Hilton.

I loved Welcome to the Dollhouse and would love to see how she acts out the roll. If they dye her hair blonde then they can't say that it isn't about Jessica Simpson. There would just too much in common.
Where did they get that name? As far as I know, no one in the family has ever had any relationship with Jessica Simpson. Should I be seeking royalties, here?
