Mayumi Heene ("Balloon Boy" Mom) Admits It Was All A Hoax

Now this is just sad. Mayumi Heene, the mother of the boy who we all thought had gone missing in a hot air balloon, reportedly admitted to authorities it was all a hoax in an affidavit.
In the [affidavit], it says "Mayumi described that she and Richard Heene devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier ... she and Richard had instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding this hoax."
The sheriff, Jim Alderden, reportedly is recommending that multiple charges be pressed against the parents, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor, conspiracy, filing false reports to authorities, and attempting to influence a public servant.
Fame isn't worth all this.

They will get what they deserve now. Unbelievable. The parents must suffer from some sort of mental disorder. Poor kids for being dragged into this nonsense.

what if one day something bad actually happens to their kids? no one will believe them!
I think the wife is in a controlling marriage and he hits her, she is trapped and must put up with his nonsense stuff. Poor mail order bride. So much for the American dream. Maybe this is her way out, putting all the blame on him in return for freedom?

I really feel sorry for the kids involved. Why would the parents ever think this was a good idea?

It is more pubilcity for them more people reading and watching so they get what they want. Doubt there will be much time spent in any court house. Sure there pockets are full.
you're supposed to teach your kids not to lie...not have them lie to get attention...what the hell is that. These people are absolutely ridiculous. I hate people who are so in need of attention. Why would anyone put their kids through that. I hope they both pay for what they've done.
Oh dear! Oh my! Parents should show good examples to their kids...
