Mayumi Heene (“Balloon Boy” Mom) Admits It Was All A Hoax

Now this is just sad. Mayumi Heene, the mother of the boy who we all thought had gone missing in a hot air balloon, reportedly admitted to authorities it was all a hoax in an affidavit.

In the [affidavit], it says “Mayumi described that she and Richard Heene devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier … she and Richard had instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding this hoax.”

The sheriff, Jim Alderden, reportedly is recommending that multiple charges be pressed against the parents, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor, conspiracy, filing false reports to authorities, and attempting to influence a public servant.

Fame isn’t worth all this.

you’re supposed to teach your kids not to lie…not have them lie to get attention…what the hell is that. These people are absolutely ridiculous. I hate people who are so in need of attention. Why would anyone put their kids through that. I hope they both pay for what they’ve done.
