Nicole Richie Can't Decide On Halloween Costumes

Nicole Richie and her daughter can’t decide on a Halloween costume for the toddler to wear. The reality TV star – who has 21-month-old daughter Harlow and newborn Sparrow with partner Joel Madden – says the family are struggling to agree on what outfits they will wear to a ghoulish party on Saturday.

“I wanted Harlow to be something from Alice in Wonderland, but she really wants to be Tinkerbell.”

However, the 28-year-old star – who plans to dress as a white rabbit – says her son is much easier to please than her daughter. Nicole explained to TV show ‘Extra’:

“I will wrap Sparrow up in toilet paper and make him a little mummy. He doesn’t care.”

Meanwhile, Joel – who will miss the spooky bash because of work commitments in Australia – believes he has the perfect costumes for his three loved ones.

“I had an idea that I would be the beekeeper and they could be the bees. But that didn’t appeal to Nicole too much!”

I have a feeling Nicole has the final say in this matter. :) What are your kids going to be for Halloween? Here is a pic of mine.

Wow Nicole looks good in the picture!
I don't have kids to dress up (if I did, they would be dressed like little bears or tigers. CUTE!) Halloween is not a holiday in the Netherlands, so no one really dresses up. There are some parties. But not like in the US

The beekeeper and mummy comments were both really cute. As much as she wants Harlow to be something from Alice and Wonderland she should let her be Tinkerbell. I was just reading an article in the newspaper the other week about how my generation (same as Nicole's) is parenting more with their own preferences than their child's preferences in mind ie. dressing their kids in what they think is cool, trying to get them to listen to their preferred music, etc. Kids need to be able to make their own choices about those types of things and parents need to remember that it isn't about what they like - it's what the child likes.

My 7 year old is going to be Megatron. Since he's been old enough, he has chosen his own costume. My oldest son is 19 and he's dressing as Michael Myers to pass out candy. My favorite year was when my two older boys went as BAtman and Robin. They were sooo cute!
