Sandra Bullock Says She Isn't Exactly A Sweetheart

Sandra Bullock Says She Isn't Exactly A Sweetheart

What? Sandra Bullock? Sandra seems great! She may be one of the big romantic comedy stars, but she doesn't confuse her characters with reality. She knows her faults. To me, that just makes her more likable :) Sandra 'fessed up to Parade magazine.

"Listen, I know I'm not easy to deal with. I'm controlling, and I want everything orderly, and I need lists. My mind goes a mile a minute. I'm difficult on every single level. I'm aware that I can be annoying.

"I like to iron. Ironing is comfort. It's control. I'm a nutty person who likes to make sure everything is in its place. I am a big ball of high energy and organization and structure. Don't forget, I'm half-German."

Sandra used this "annoying" side of herself for her latest character, Leigh Anne Tuohy, a flamboyant Southern woman who adopts a disadvantaged African American teenage boy, in her new film 'The Blind Side,'.

"It's a film about people doing something for the betterment of someone else in the world. It deals with the ugly side of racial tension, which is still the truth of the South. I could really identify with my character's determination and outspokenness. She faces some daunting challenges. I understood the fierce sense of what's right and wrong that was driving her."

Sandra said her mother was her inspiration.

"My mom was like that. She had blinders on. She did what she did and didn't care what people thought. But as a kid, I was like, 'Oh, dear God, please make her stop and be normal.' I wanted an ordinary mom. My sister, Gesine, and I were lucky enough to be raised by a mother who did things unconventionally, and a father who was fine with the kids being raised that way. There was no gender in our house. I didn't realize that I couldn't do what boys could do, because my dad raised me as a boy."

She talks about coping with her mother's death in 2000 and marriage as well. You can read more here.

Ironing! I hate ironing. I'd rather walk around in wrinkled clothes...

This comment does make her even more likeable, she's normal! Maybe I'm prejudice because I need lists too (and I iron EVERYTHING!) :-)

Lists are my life. If it isn't written down then we don't need it or have to do it. ;)

On another note, the book that the movie is based off of is absolutely wonderful. If you're even remotely interested in football, Michael Oher (currently the Baltimore Raven's rookie left tackle), or just a good read, I highly, highly recommend reading it. Great stuff.

OMG, I would find her completely annoying - wouldn't be able to be around her. Having said that, I love her candor and she seems to get better looking as she ages.

I loathe ironing, never do it if I can help it. My mom sounds a lot like hers, and though I swore I wouldn't, I'm kind of turning into "that" kind of mom, too. I like Sandra Bullock, even though she'd probably claw her eyes out if she walked into my disorganized, wrinkled house.

Self awareness, yes, a good thing. Every crew that has had to work with her here in Vancouver has commented on how difficult she is to work with. She is demanding to the point that it slows everyone else down. She has to have her make-up brushes washed with imported water. Yes. And her husband was just as much of a pain to please on these sets as he accompanies her.

Seriously has she broken her nose? Just look at it in that first pic and then look at the last one. It goes from being sleek to boxer worthy. And Im not trashing Sandra because I love her - its just her face is changing lately and I cant put my finger on it. Botox gone wrong?
