Rihanna Said She Felt Like Britney Spears After Chris Brown Attack

Rihanna felt like “Britney Spears” after she was attacked by Chris Brown.
The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker was astonished by the attention she attracted after she was abused by her then-boyfriend in February, likening it to that of which the ‘Womanizer’ singer received following her well-publicized breakdown in 2007.
“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”
Despite the horrific attack and subsequent publicity it generated, the 21-year-old singer is trying to remain positive and wants to be a role model for other women experiencing similar ordeals.
“The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that.
“I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.
“Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight.
"Teenage girls can't tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don't dare let your neighbour know that you fight.
"It's one of the things women will hide, because it's embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery."
This week, the rest of the interview comes out. I am curious to hear the entire clip.

Me too.
"people can learn from that"? She was holed up at Diddy's with her attacker in the days following her beating! How is that an example to follow?
and she is only talking about it now to promote some new music. Shame on her.

I wish her all the best and hope she eventually finds a decent person to be with in the end.
Basically she is teaching young women that after your boyfriend beat u up, accept a reunion arranged by Diddy at a Miami mansion, avoid talking about what happened, don't make any public statement besides "Thanks for all your support" and when it's time to have an album out, now talk about it loudly and tell people how you want to be a role model for young women. I don't want to judge her but I would have preferred if she did these interviews earlier. Then again, maybe I dont know how she feels and I'm just drawing conclusions fast.
I agree. her decision to discuss this now is a publicity stunt for her new album. If she really wanted to set an example then she should have spoken up when it mattered the most. If she really wanted to set an example, then why make a song called "Russian Roulette"? Feeling suicidal? I hope not. But I'll pray for you Rihanna, and I hope that you are being genuine because some young women who have no other role models in their lives really look up to celebrities like you. God bless you
She is a vile person to bring this all up almost a year later to promote her album. She doesn't care about other women, if she did she would be volunteering and focusing on recovery not making bs music and gallivanting in the worst fashions I have ever seen. She is a disgrace shame on her doing this to promote her shitty new album.

I don't mean to be cynical, but I find it 1: odd that she is NOW talking about it, and 2: that she thinks she is the voice of abused women. I mean some woman go through YEARS of physical and emotional abuse. Not to belittle what Chris did to her, but I find her comparing herself to these other woman rather arrogant.
