Victoria Beckham Buys David A Few Pigs For Christmas

David Beckham’s wife has bought him some pigs. Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham paid $2,400 for two miniature pot-bellied Gloucester Old Spot cross-breed animals for the soccer star as an early Christmas present

“What can you possibly buy the multi-millionaire, superstar footballer who has absolutely everything? In the case of David Beckham, the answer is, obviously, a pair of cuddly designer piglets. Victoria fell in love with them and realized she’d found the perfect present.”

The former Spice Girls star was said to love the pigs – which David wants to name Pinky and Perky after characters in a children’s TV show – because they are easy to house-train. The source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper:

“”Micro pigs are incredibly clean and easy to train. They will be given the run of the place and could even end up watching TV on David and Victoria’s laps.”

Pigs are getting more and more popular. A few months ago I met up with some friends in Brooklyn for brunch on Sunday and there was a couple in the park with two HUGE pigs. Everyone was gathering around them and taking pictures. My children were completely amazed. They do say pigs are cleaner than other animals…

Would you get a pig as a pet?

I would get a miniature pig but not a full size one. They’d be too hard to care for.

  2. C. says:

Do you really think Victoria Beckham is going to clean up pig poop? There is staff for that. ;)

  3. Ellie says:

“designer pigs”… gross. Well, she kinda looks like one so I can see why she would want to get some as pets to keep her company.

  4. Monica says:

Pigs are adorable and very intelligent. I would totally get one. I’d even let him roll around in the mud for fun.

  5. Monica says:

BTW, I don’t think Vic is as high-maintenance as we think. She may look very chic and put together all the time, but I really don’t think she’s a snob to everything.

doubt she moves a finger to clean anything. if she has pets, she has staff that takes care of the pets. when i read this i thought their kids probably going to enjoy the pigs the most.

  11. Riviera says:

Somehow I just can’t see Victoria with a pet. She’s way too high maintenance and too clean to have one.

  12. BoN says:

She wanted clones of herself around to keep David company when she wasn’t around…LoL

  13. DonnaJ says:

    I could look past it…lol

  19. Linda123 says:

I don’t get why celebrities buy such expensive pets. These $2400 pigs probably don’t look any different than $24 ones. I have heard they are easier to take of.

  20. smp209 says:

i cannot wrap my mind around this post. victoria beckham + a pig?? yeah right

  21. maiah912 says:

I’m sure they’ll hire people to take care of their pigs for them.

I would not have a pig. I am lucky to have a Maine Coon cat.
