I hope Kayla Ewell likes the current popularity of vampires, because it’s a big part of her life! In addition to starring in ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ she’s still close friends with her ex-boyfriend, Kellan Lutz, of ‘Twilight’ fame, and has even met Robert Pattinson. Kayla talked about Kellan and Robert, as well as her own co-stars with OK! magazine.
What is her relationship with Kellan like?
It’s fun to call Kellan and run ideas by him. He and I dated for years, when we were younger. We’re really good friends still. It’s so much fun for us, now, to see each other working and still be each other’s support system. He’s amazing.
What is Robert like?
He’s definitely über-sexy and he doesn’t try to be. I remember the first time I met him – I was like, “Oh, hello!” And then he starts talking and that makes it 1,000 times hotter. I’m a sucker for accents and any man who can actually sing and serenade you. He’d do open-mic nights in random bars in Portland, Ore., while they were filming Twilight. I was dating Kellan then and we’d all hang out sometimes.
So what are her ‘The Vampire Diaries’ co-stars, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley really like?
They’re both so sexy! Every day I show up at work and think, “It’s not fair that you’re this hot!” They’re so charming in real life and each has a really engaging personality. Ian is gregarious, the life of the party and the one everybody gravitates toward; Paul is like a secretive, sexy, groovy vampire – he’s on the opposite end of the spectrum.
So, who’s Kayla’s favorite vampire?
My all-time favorite is Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire. He’s so sexy. I’m a fan of anything he does, but in that film he’s a vampire who doesn’t want to feed. There’s something super sexy about someone who has to feed to survive but doesn’t want to do it.

She was my favorite character on vampire diaries, after Damon. I’m still really pissed they killed her off. All the other women on the show are whiny but Vicki was a headstrong character.
I agree 1000%. Also, did it look like they cut Damon’s hair in this last episode to anyone? It just looked “off”.
Is that really her in the black sheer dress? It doesn’t look like her to me… It doesn’t look like her style of clothing for one, Kayla’s arms and legs are much slimmer and toned and her face looks similar-ish but definitely different. Anyone else think so or am I going nuts?
The others may be whiny but in the fictional realm that they live in, they have a lot to be sad about (people dying on them and all)! If anything, I would say Vicki’s character was emotionally the weakest. She used drugs as a form of escapism to avoid dealing with her issues and compared to the other characters, she had little to be so troubled about. She was only headstrong about destroying her life IMO.
