Mo'Nique Is Living Her Dream
Mo'Nique may be known as a comedianne, but she shows her acting chops as an abusive mother in the film 'Precious.' She knew how to play the role.
"Coming from being molested as a child, when [director Lee Daniels] said, 'I need you to be this monster,' well [I] knew who that monster was," she says.
Yet Mo'Nique says her real life is a far-cry from her past.
"When we're at home it ain't 'action and cut'," says the mom of 4-year-old twins, Jonathan and David, and a 19-year-old son, Shalon. "It's just like a playground in our house – nothing but fun and love."
Mo'Nique has also adopted a healthier lifestyle by giving up red meat, fried foods, and junk food (mostly: "I still love those d*mn Doritos, baby!").
"Big is still beautiful," says Mo'Nique, who went from a size 20 to a size 14. "Big healthy people are beautiful."

She looks good! I'm glad she's starting to adapt a healthier lifestyle.
I want to know who her nutritionist is and give them a pat on the back for telling her to kick red meat. Red meat is a KILLER. Eat it and you will die from some sort of complications from it. Wether it be colon cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure, high cholesterol etc etc. ALMOST EVERY aliment most Americans have can be traced back to the nasty amounts of red meat they eat. GROSS.

Mo'Nique has done something that halle berry did not do, and could not do, you believe her character and that means Mo'Nique is a actress. Good luck to you. Don't let halle jump on your bandwagon, she has done nothing to open the doors, now the doors are starting to open,

I like her but as every celeb there's always negative press that is printed sometimes that makes you go hmnnn (regarding promoting her latest movie)
I like Monique and I'm sure the movie will be a must see. I rarely go to the movies, so I'll order it on pay per view when is out.

If it wasn't for Halle Berry half of black hollywood wouldn't even know that Oscar was attainable. Her and Denzel were the first black people in a long time to have won that award back in 2002 and after that a lot of blacks followed. Halle Berry is a superstar, so what bandwagon are you speaking of? Halle already has her Oscar, she is amoung the highest paid actresses in that business, she has nothing to prove. Halle won her Oscar because she played a character far from herelf. Untill Monique wins half the awards Halle has she's not on her level.
Halle seems like a decent person so I am confused on why people like yourself feel the need to call her out in a topic not even about her. Get a grip. The sad part is you're probably a black person doing this.
