Ashlee Simpson Is Bound For Broadway

Well, if Ashlee Simpson truly was struggling with being fired from ‘Melrose Place,’ then I’m sure this new role will help! She won the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of ‘Chicago.’

It’s not an unfamiliar role. Simpson-Wentz played the role in the London run of the musical. It would, however, be her Broadway debut.

Moving from a struggling soap to a Broadway play isn’t a bad recovery at all!

Ummmm…that’s some bullshit. As a native New Yorker, anyone that is not from the 5 boroughs is a tourist. You may think you’re with the game…but you aren’t, sorry.

Oh my god! Listening to the B**** speak makes my skin crawl, singing–forget about it. I thought she was done with “singing” and just wanted to act? Get off your sister and husbands coattails (sp) and go be a mom!!!!!

  3. ashkam says:

I’m sure it will be a support for her to have child care help from pete’s family in the chicago area- since i’m sure pete himself isn’t much support.

it doesn’t really matter because only tourists go see this show because it’s been around so long and tourists have no idea what a good performance is.

  5. lara jane says:

That’s a very unfair assumption. Not everyone has the privilege of living in NYC, so — what? — you expect us to visit but not see a show? And for the record, I do know a good performance.

  6. DonnaJ says:

    You tell ‘em lara!

  7. switchstance5 says:

They’re going to regret putting her under contract – anything she touches has failed.

what makes you think it’s such a privilege to live in NYC? and for the record, people from NJ or CT are not tourists. anyone outside the tri-state area is a tourist and usually can’t walk down the street without stopping short and pointing their cameras at the BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG building.

what?? she can’t sing!!! it seems like everyone forgot about that SNL incident and her horrible songs, she’s a terrible singer and a horrible actress…she shouldn’t be famous at all!

  11. Vedder says:

You call her transition, “MOVING FROM”, TRY “BEING FIRED”, she is indicative of this genrations lack of real talent. The story that made headlines last week about her co-stars hating her and her acting like a diva..never saw that story on here…hmmm

  12. Scruffy says:

She just don’t stike me as the broadway type, but heh, wat do I know.

  13. Scruffy says:

Living in an overcrowded, polluted, crime ridden city dosn’t exactly scream ‘Privilege’ to me, sorry.

  14. JennB says:

Okay, I work in midtown EVERY single weekday, and on the weekends I’m always in Manhattan. I choose to live in Hoboken bc I can have a nicer place for a more affordable rent. And, since I’m just starting out, that’s kinda important. Just bc I don’t live in a borough doesn’t make me a tourist. If I lived in South Jersey (or something like that) and came in once or twice a year, but it takes me 6 minutes to get into Manhattan. I think I’m more a part of the City than someone in Staten Island. Just my 2 cents.

Ashlee is hot. HOT HOT HOT. That’s all I care about.

  16. DonnaJ says:

I can see your feeling that way, but as someone that was born and raised in Manhattan I can tell you that a lot of natives don’t feel that way. Ever go out to a lounge or a bar and have a native ask you where you’re from? Ever see their reaction when you say New Jersey? I rest my case. And I totally disagree with your SI/Jersey comment. NYC is NYC and Jersey is Jersey, period.

  17. JennB says:

Because it’s snobbishness and pretentiousness. I’m not saying I’m a New Yorker, I’m just saying I’m not a tourist. We can agree to disagree I suppose.

  18. Chelle says:

    Good for her.

  19. DonnaJ says:

“I think I’m more a part of the City than someone in Staten Island.” You just claimed that you are more part of the City than an actual New Yorker because you work here and come into the city, yet have the nerve to say that that New Yorkers are snobbish and pretentious. I think that arrow points more in your direction…and that’s why real New Yorker’s feel the way they do.

  20. Lill2441 says:

Cant she just go away already?

  21. bgduckie_01 says:

    she just needs to stop.

  22. Lizzypoo says:

    I hope she does well.

  23. CapturingLife says:

She got rave reviews when she played Roxie in London. I wish her luck. :)

  24. OutInLeftField says:

Did she really? Then I shall refrain from commenting.

  25. Anonymous says:

of course she did. she’s playing a wannabe. what a stretch

  26. Anonymous says:

    WHY?????????????????????

  27. DonnaJ says:

Ugh, now she gets to pollute Broadway too.

  28. sweet kiddo says:

come on Donna say it out loud : ” welcome in New-york assley !!!” (you know you’re excited)

  29. maiah912 says:

Yeah I remember she was well received in this role previously. We’ll see if history repeats itself.

  30. Helen says:

Good for her, for finding a job after being so publicly and embarrassingly fired.

  31. Anonymous says:

Ummm.. she is playing in a Broadway play in CHICAGO, not New York.. big difference…

  32. Anonymous says:

    you’re an idiot.

  33. JennB says:

You’re kidding, right? The show is CALLED “Chicago” and plays in NY.

  34. DonnaJ says:

Assley being the operative word. LOL!

  35. BoN says:

she wasn’t believable on Melrose Place which is free tv why would I pay good money to go see her not be believable of broadway.
