Dakota Fanning Covers Teen Vogue

Dakota Fanning may only be fifteen years old, but the actress has already worked with the likes of Sean Penn, Robert DeNiro, Denzel Washington, and Tom Cruise. So what else was left for her to do? Get involved in a major franchise! Dakota talked about her latest project and transitioning into being an adult actress with Teen Vogue.

Dakota will do that this month as the Volturi Jane in ‘New Moon.’ Jane has the power to cause pain without even touching her victims. Ouch! Dakota said she didn’t need to do much to prepare for the role: “The red contacts were enough.”

It wasn’t a hard sell to get Dakota to sign on; she’s a major ‘Twilight’ fan.

“I read all four Twilight books in one week. It’s such a phenomenon, and I wanted to be able to say that I was a part of it.”

Shooting ‘New Moon’ also gave Dakota a chance to get to know ‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart before they started shooting their film ‘The Runaways.’

“We became really close,” Dakota says, “like we’d known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time.

“I’ve never been such an evil character, and because I do know Kristen so well, being mean to her was really weird. It’s like, Sorry, dude!”

Kristen apparently feels the same way. In an email from the ‘Eclipse’ set, she told Teen Vogue:

“Dakota is one of the most consistently moving actors I have ever worked with. I’m always better with her.”

Sounds like high praise from one actor to another! You can read more of the Teen Vogue interview here, and get a copy of the December/January issue when it hits newsstands on November 17.

  4. audrey says:

There’s still a few more years of her teens to live through. lol. I think she is pretty grounded and has a lot of support from her family so hopefully we won’t be seeing her unravel before our eyes.

  5. xy mom says:

Wasn’t she just voted homecoming queen in high school? Maybe I read wrong.

  6. maiah912 says:

I think she is a gorgeous young girl who I’m sure will have a long acting career.

  7. Helen says:

the 2nd and 4th pics she’s wearing TINY skirts! too short for a 15 year old.

  11. Nemiha says:

it’s better then the crap miley cyrus wears.

  12. Dakota Fan says:

Awesome photos, beautiful girl. No photo shop necessary. I saw the rough photos taken at the new Moon press conference the other day and she is just as georgous and just as naturally beautiful. She has her feet totally on the ground wanting to enjoy prom and school and is a really wonderful actress.

  13. switchstance5 says:

Wow what an opportunity for Dakota! She looks all grown up here. It’s weird going from seeing her in Charlotte’s Web to this….But I guess everyone grows up some time.

  14. dyinggiraffe says:

true, but that’s miley. i really am pulling for dakota to not be a whore.

  15. Ninni says:

I love it too how she’s not craving for attention every minute of the day, or doing idiotic things and just showing that even a very successful young actress can avoid the paps and the path of partying and drugs (yes she does have time, but so far so good) It irks me how some parents say being pushy and loud is the only way to make it, and how all the bimbos just make excuses about their crazy lives. Dakota seems so normal (and looks her age) i love it.

  16. Monica says:

She is such a talented actress. When she did I AM SAM when she was like, 4 years old, I was blown away.

  17. ladydaytrippin says:

  25. katgib13 says:

Her awkward phase didn’t last long. She’s turning into quite a beautiful young woman. I’m looking forward to seeing what she does in about 10 years, when she can take on more mature roles. She’s extremely talented and I don’t doubt she’s going to have a very long, lucrative career.

  26. sweet kiddo says:

    pretty cute girl

  27. BoN says:

    What a lovely young lady

  28. DonnaJ says:

Her hair looks great in these photos.

  29. OutInLeftField says:

She is a very lovely young lady and dresses and acts appropriate for her age. Her parents must be very hands-on with her. You don’t see them out trying to get in the limelight, they let her shine and do their job in the background.

  30. KissKiss says:

She’s turned into a beautiful young girl!

  31. CapturingLife says:

On first glance I almost thought she was Amanda Seyfried.
