Paris Hilton has threatened legal action against a New Zealand company for plastering her face across a billboard with the word “vacant”
stamped across it. The reality TV star was left fuming when she discovered bosses at Media5 had used her image to advertise billboard space in Wellington.
Hilton’s manager, Jamie Freed, claims the company doesn’t have permission to use the picture and insists the star plans to settle the matter in court.
Spokesperson for Media5, Adam McGregor, says,
“(The poster is just) a bit of fun. Paris has a proven ability to laugh at herself. We assume that the agency has taken care of the rights to the image of Paris, but we will ask the question. We’re not trying to offend anyone.”
Whose side are you on?

That is sooooo funny.
if there is only air is it really considered vacant? LOL
Yeah, she will laugh, when she battles the c**ts in court.
I’d be p*ssed, but it’s pretty funny, and The adds go perfectly with the image she has created for herself.
great stuff
I would be sooo offended. I think this is really demeaning.
nevertheless, it’s a very clever marketing ploy.
Haha! That billboard’s in Auckland, where I live, when I first saw it I almost crashed my car! It’s funny, but then again they won’t get away with it. Such a kiwi thing to do though…
The creator of this billboard is my hero.
LOL – Love it!
What a perfect billboard.
sad and mean but funny :p
So funny and why is she suing ?? It goes perfect with her image!!
LOL !! if you think we’ll be on paris’s side ,you’re smoking some good stuff !!!
great advertising !! love it
can anybody tell me what vacant means? im from europe.
=)
it means “nothing but air between your ears” as in “empty space” as in “no too bright”.
I think it would be funny if she’d give up rights to this particular picture and is now trying to backtrack and say, “No, no! They can’t do this!”
Sadly, even if the company is in the right, she’ll probably still win because she has more money.
To be fair, it’s not like Paris has been parading herself as some philanthropist with a great idea that would save the world. She’s put forth this public image as a vacant rich girl.
Kiwis *are* really awesome.
Maybe she’s suing because she wants them to pay her to keep this up?
It means empty or not occupied. Used in relation to a person, it means that he or she is stupid.
she’s getting attention…i thought she would love this
I Think youll find the billboard is actually in wellington. M5 is a wellington advertising company.
Dont know what side of Auckland you think your living on???
it could only be more true if it said “herpes”
Go New Zealand… ha ha ha classic
And bragged about her ‘image’ as a marketing ploy…
Hey, maybe its in Wellington too, but, trust me, its in Auckland as well. I agree with the other guy. I’ve seen it with my own eyes! Haha!
LOL!
Could not find a suitable section so I written here, how to become a moderator for your forum, that need for this?
hahahaha thats great
I hate to admit it but it’s pretty darn funny.
I agree with all of this.
I agree with both of you!
Funniest thing ever
But really mean
Mean, but not surprising with the image that she’s put forth over the years.
This is a classic example of truth in advertising.
That’s hilarious. Truth hurts I guess.
hahahaha new zealanders are amazing
woop my home town!
That’s too funny! Love it!
