In order to help out a depressed Wilmington soup kitchen, Rachael Ray provided the organization with new appliances, shelves, furniture and has promised food for a YEAR!
The soup kitchen is now getting as many customers in a day as it did in a week a year ago due to the departure of DHL Express and other Wilmington Air Park operations. Currently, the unemployment rate is at 15% and Rachael wanted to step in and provide a helping hand.
The entire event was filmed and due to air on November 25th on ‘The Rachael Ray Show’.
On Sunday, the Food Network star hosted an early Thanksgiving feast for the community. The soup kitchen improvements and the Thanksgiving meal are scheduled to be featured on “The Rachael Ray Show” on Nov. 25.
What a great thing to do!

that’s great. very nice of her.
i was born and raised in Wilmington, Oh and people there are having I hard time getting by since the big layoff at DHL. I know several people who have lost their jobs. KUDOS TO RACHEL RAY!!! Thanks a million, RR!!!!!
I wish more celebrities would do stuff like this. It would go a long way in improving their images as spoiled brats and help a depressed economy at the same time.
Good job! Seems like this is the 2nd post about her doing something great. She just keeps it coming!
Isn’t she feeding them thanksgiving dinner too. Very appropriate and generous.
It’s a small world! I was born and raised in Washington Court House….My whole family still lives there.
I can’t watch her programme, that voice is like nails on a chalkboard. cringe
Nice of her to do that!
It’s nice of Rachel to do that. If you would like to volunteer at a soup kitchen, here is a list of places:

that is really nice ,i like her now
and long time no see high school crush (wink wink)!!! was talking about christian slater
She’s not my favorite person, but that’s a pretty wonderful thing to do.
^it is a wonderful thing to do but it’s chump change for Rachel and a tax write off.
It’s wonderful to use what you have to help others.
I really can’t stand her show, but I admire her doing that. Even though it is a tax write off, she didn’t have to do it, and those people will appreciate it regardless of her motives.
Well said!
Wilmington is about 20 miles from my hometown. Things are really tough there. Nice to see someone helping them out.
Very cool use of celebrity to help other people. WTG Rachel
