Brad Pitt Is Ready For A ‘Basterds’ Prequel

Brad Pitt has one film project in particular that he is eager to do (you know, just in case nothing else pans out): a prequel to ‘Inglourious Basterds’ with Quentin Tarantino, according to E! Online.

“Everybody would drop whatever they’re doing to go back to work with Quentin,” Pitt’s Basterds costar Eli Roth told [E! Online] at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards presented by Movieline.com in Hollywood. “All the time, Brad says, ‘Prequel, prequel!’ All the ‘basterds’ would jump on it in a second.

“We have three scenes that we shot in Boston that take place before the war, and Quentin says if he does the prequel, he’s going to use them,” Roth said. “They’re not going to be DVD extras.”

“There’s a great scene with me and Cloris Leachman,” Roth adds. “I go and get her to sign the bat. It’s me and the little old Jewish ladies of the neighborhood.”

Apparently, this isn’t just wishful thinking, either.

“[Quentin] has most of it written, so now it’s just a matter of figuring the whole thing out,” Roth said. “Quentin’s standards are so high that he won’t do it unless he feels like he can do it better than the first one.”

Did you see the first ‘Inglourious Basterds’? Are you ready for a prequel?

I’m not a fan of Brad Pitt or Quentin Tarantino but my husband wanted to see Inglourious Bastards, so I tagged along and it was surprisingly good! I don’t know about a prequel though, I think there’s only so much you can take of both these guys.

Taste is subjective. I realize a lot of you are fortunate to have enough time on your hands to dedicate so much when you visit this site, but it’s important to realize that there is a great big world outside of registered users that agree with everything you say.

Then by all means get to it and leave us registered users to our own devices. Arrivederci.

Calm down, it’s a website! Maybe a nice walk OUTSIDE?

  5. Linda123 says:

This isn’t anything new. Quentin has been saying there may be a prequal before he even finished IB and continued to say so throughout promotion.

i LOVED inglorious basterds, but brad pitt’s character is so annoying i don’t know if i would want to watch a prequel if it had a lot of him in it.

  7. bgduckie_01 says:

i havent watched the first one but i heard it was good. i need to watch it first to see if the next film would be necessary.

  8. DonnaJ says:

I really liked this movie and I would probably watch a prequel. I was expecting the movie to be more violent and was relieved that it wasn’t more gruesome. Unless it was as violent as I thought and I’ve just become desensitized by the media. :)

  18. Manimal says:

Oh, Dear Sweet Baby Jesus, please let this come to pass. Quentin Tarantino is a film making God, and Inglorious Basterds was so outstanding. Please, 6 pound, 8 ounce Baby Jesus, let this come to pass.

I would see that on opening day. Then again, I’d probably see any Tarantino movie on opening day. He’s amazing.

  19. DonnaJ says:

    That’s your opinion.

Phenomenal film. Differing taste doesn’t justify him being a “psycho.”

  21. ladydaytrippin says:

    This man is just (sigh).

  22. OutInLeftField says:

Whoa, hold on there Brad. I haven’t even seen the original yet.

  23. DonnaJ says:

After Reservoir Dogs I refuse to see anything Quentin Tarantino. I think the man is a psycho.

I haven’t seen the first one yet. I hear it’s very enjoyable.
