Robert Downey Jr. Talks Parenthood And Success

Robert Downey Jr. sat down for this month's issue of Esquire to chat about family and success.

Robert shares about wanting to have children:

"The big unspoken thing here is that we intend to have a family... Hell, yeah. Speaking of artifacts. The ultimate artifact of our love. In a onesie.

He enjoys making a lot of money for other people but fears he might wear out his welcome. I highly doubt that. ;)

"I love being a part of something that makes other people a bunch of dough. And I don't need to make nothing but big movies. In fact, if anything I'm probably in danger of wearing out my welcome."

He shared a little about getting a new start in the business.

"I hit my stride later than most folks. A couple years ago, it really was a big old hip-hip-hooray and let's get somethin' shakin' here. Then pfffffff - it reorganized at this higher level, and now there's more to manage, and more opportunity. And then there's nothing except the question of pacing - because I can go fast like this for a little while or I can start pacing it down and get where I'm actually supposed to be heading - and it's really, really elusive."

He certainly knows how to put a positive spin on things. Robert has 2 huge movies coming up: Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man 2. Are you a fan? Do you plan to see either movie?

I haven't seen much of his newer stuff, just the soloist, but i had such an obsession with him as a kid that it doesn't matter what he does, he'll never do anything wrong in my eyes :) Maybe it's better i don't watch the new films so he can stay as my childhood semi-god in my memories, lol. Ironman wouldn't prolly be my kind of movie anyways.

I have always loved Robert. So I would go see him in any movie he makes. He is just an exceptional actor with rare talents and gifts. He never disappoints me. I can't wait to see Sherlock Holmes or Iron Man 2. ( I definently can't wait to see pictures of his and Susans' artifact of love in a onesie! Now that is going to be one beautiful baby! I hope they have a few together not just one. I believe he would be a great dad).
