Twitter User Inspires A New TV Sitcom Based On Grumpy Dad

Social Media is really reaching out in big ways. CBS is developing a new sitcom based on the rantings of a Twitter user's dad! The user, $#@! my dad says, has over 700,000 followers. Justin Halpern moved back home with his dad and started tweeting his cynical and sarcastic observations.
I read through a few of the tweets and some are pretty funny and others are quite profane, just an fyi. A few favorites:
"Son, no one gives a s#$! about all the things your cell phone does. You didn't invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that."
"Remember how you used to make fun of me for being bald?...No, I'm not gonna make a joke. I'll let your mirror do that."
I could see someone like Jerry Stiller being a good candidate for the dad. Who do you think would make the perfect grumpy dad for this role? Does it sound like something you'd check out or skip?

Lame. I like the twitter account but I can't see a tv show based on it actually being funny and not just annoying/stupid/monotonous.

I follow him and love the stuff he posts.
"Social" media is quite the opposite. I will be skipping it.

I follow him, too. It's pretty funny. I don't know how you'd develop an entire show around it, but yes, Jerry Stiller would be ideal as Dad!

He's hilarious! However, while Jerry Stiller has the cantakerous (sp?) down, I find him a little annoying.

I've never heard of the twitter account, but it sounds funny as hell.
Jerry Stiller is 82 years old - don't know too many 60 year old "sons" that twitter - Rainn Wilson might be a better choice

Interesting concept! I might check it out, although I highly doubt it would be that successful.
