Jon Voight Confirms Reconciliation With Angelina Jolie

After a seven year estrangement, Jon Voight confirmed to Us Weekly that he is once again on speaking terms with daughter Angelina Jolie.

We’re in touch, but not regularly,” Voight, 70, confirms to Us Weekly. “We love each other and that’s the most important thing.”

A family friend told the magazine Jon and Angelina met face-to-face in February.

“Angie made the initial contact,” says the pal. “Brad [Pitt] has been supportive – a key factor in her reaching out.”

Angelina reportedly stopped talking to her father after he pleaded for her to get treatment for “serious mental problems” on Access Hollywood.

Yeah, I can see how that might have ticked Angelina off. Being able to patch things up to this extent is good to hear. Hopefully Jon’s confirmation to Us Weekly won’t lead to another riff!

Didn’t Angelina say that she was talking to her father last year? I think she said they were taking things slowly, to become friends. Why do people say Angelina is insane? The only thing people say is she adopts and moves around for films. This doesn’t make sense considering Brad is right there with her. Also Andrew Morton denied the affair at 16. Of course only a few websites reported that and never retracted the story.

Thats awesome. I’m happy for them. But just keep it to yourself Jon. Thats what got you into trouble in the first place. I hope he can have a close relationship with his grandchildren as well.

  3. DonnaJ says:

Not for nothing, but Shiloh looks just like her grandpa.

i dont blame him for what he said about her having serious mental problems. jolie is clearly a borderline personality. i mean there is no question that the women has issues.

  5. Helen says:

All the more reasons to keep the matter private.

  6. DonnaJ says:

    Zing!

  7. Sandym says:

I thought I was the only one ………little Shiloh looks exactly like her grandpa!!

St. Angelina constantly talks about how she would never sleep with a spoken-for man (Brad Pitt, Billy Bob Thorton) because her father cheated on her beloved mother. I wonder how her mother felt, after being dumped by Jon Voigt, when her 16-year-old whore daughter slept with her boyfriend. She also said she’s only been with four or five men in her whole life. Guess that would be the boyfriend who moved in with her at 14, then her Mom’s boyfriend at 16, then her first husband Johnny Lee Miller, then Billy Bob Thorton, then Brad Pitt. (Ha ha ha ha.) She forgot to count her own brother.

well good for them for keeping in touch now. hopefully this will be his last public announcement if he wants to keep things cool with his daughter.

DonnaJ, you need a life. You keep commenting on everything and making nasty comments about celebrities…dont you have anything nice to say for once? you are obvs a very sad, jealous loser and need to get off the computer.

    Ta!

  11. Anonymous says:

and you know all this because…? Oh right, you got that info from tabloids– always the most reliable source.

    Loser.

  12. NiChar says:

What is up with Jon Voight and Michael Lohan? Their daughters lives are constantly hounded by the papparazzi, and they continue to feed
the monster. Respect your children’s privacy, and stop telling all of their personal business.

Glad my father was nothing like these two.

She is pretty good. We bisexual friends of *BiMingle dot com* love to talked about her. Love her sexy mouth. Good figure.

  14. CCsMama says:

He seems like such a loser of a dad.

  15. DonnaJ says:

Says the commenter making a nasty post. LOL! Bite me.

  16. DonnaJ says:

    Awww…another Angie ass-licker.

Jon is such an asshole. I remember his impassioned speech, complete with plenty of dramatic pauses, about how she was crazy and had to get help. . It was pure headline grabbing on his part. Then he was *so* surprised that she didn’t want to talk to him anymore. Every time he gets the chance he announces crap about her to the press. It’s gross.

haven’t we all said something that we wish we can take back? she needs to get over herself. if it weren’t for her dad she would not have been an actress like she is today (and totally doesn’t deserve it because she can’t act)…she should be thanking him for the opportunity. what kind of examples is she setting for her kids? I hope one of her kids stop speaking to her when they grow up to see how she like it.

  19. Helen says:

To quote my favorite Angie-hater “ZING!”

  20. xy mom says:

His quote was quite respectful and well said. I can’t imagine something that minor setting off another “tiff”

  21. Anonymous says:

Good for them? Jon Voight sounds like an ass**** father. Don’t blame her for not having a relationship with him for a while.

  22. Helen says:

Again going public? isn’t this why she was so upset? Jon Voight must be in dire need of a job, looking for press at the expense of his relationship with his daughter.

  23. Lizzypoo says:

Have to agree. Even if it’s a nice quote he needs to quit making everything public.

  24. maiah912 says:

I hope he is at least in regular contact with his grandkids.

  25. dieselchicklett says:

why, WHY, would he AGAIN speak publicly about the status of his relationship with his daughter?!??? He’s getting up there with Michael Lohan for father of the year…

  26. audrey says:

I agree, especially when it took so long for them to start talking again.

  27. DonnaJ says:

Odd how you left out the part of the article as to why she got mad at him in the first place. “Jolie, 34, stopped speaking to him in 2001 after a teary Voight appeared on Access Hollywood and pleaded for her to seek help for her “serious mental problems.” I think going public isn’t the thing to do, a la Lohan, but somehow I believe him.

  28. Anonymous246 says:

You didn’t see the part right underneath the quote?

“Angelina reportedly stopped talking to her father after he pleaded for her to get treatment for “serious mental problems” on Access Hollywood.”

  29. Anonymous says:

Her head is too big for her body.

  30. Ninni says:

His comment wouldn’t be bad for a celeb in general, he doesn’t say here anything that specific or private, but Angie and Brad are quite private ppl, even in interviews they are very vague whereas some celebs are far more open, so i agree this might tick her off. Dunno..

  31. Anonymous says:

You and I must be reading different interviews of “Angie and Brad” becuase they don’t seem to have many qualms about spilling a lot of things they should probably keep to themselves in the sake of tact. Her more than him.

  32. DonnaJ says:

    You ok?

    Uh… what?
