"Balloon Boy's" Parents Will Plead Guilty

Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Richard and Mayumi Heene will plead guilty in the hoax that had authorities searching for their son, who they thought had gone missing in a hot air balloon but was later found hiding in the family's garage.
Mayumi will plead guilty to false reporting to authorities, which is a class 3 misdemeanor, while Richard will plead guilty to attempting to influence a public servant, which is a class four felony.
Both Mayumi and Richard could face up to 90 days in jail along with probation.
Do you think Richard and Mayumi should face jail time or just probation?

I don't know what they'll face. I think it's horrible to have made the kids part of the lie. The kids must have felt so conflicted to have to lie to authorities bc their parents said to.

Which is why I think they should face jail time. What they did was wrong on so many levels.

I absolutely agree. How twisted to involve your kids. Great lesson, right? Lie to get attention!

my thoughts exactly. hopefully the kids dont take that lesson with them.

i think they deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law.
Yes! What they did was horrible. They spent so much time and money looking for him... . Not to mention how many people were terrified they were going to turn on the news and discover the kid had fallen out and gotten killed.
You should also have to serve time for being a lousy parent. The guy's a nut and his wife is doing those boys a huge disservice by listening to him on how to raise them. They're obnoxious and rude and the parents are to blame. They're gonna be a mess. You can't act like that in society and make it. Unless you're Kanye West... .

What do-do brains.
They are getting a slap on the wrist...probation.

I think they probably won't serve the maximum sentence and will be let off fairly easy. Too bad, I just wonder how their kids will react to all of this.
I feel sorry for the kids because they are being raised with very twisted values.

Convict them!
I hope that Falcon kid gets removed from the home. The father seems to have quite a temper. I hope he doesn't take his anger out on the little boy becuase he spilled the beans on Larry King and unraveled the whole plot for the family.

I've never heard of felony's being numbered. It's lettered... so I'm wondering how accurate this is.
Anyway, I think the parents should face jail time for even thinking up this moronic plan and then forcing the children to play a role. What message is that teaching them? Not to mention, it made poor Falcon so nervous and upset that he vomited on national television twice over it (and who knows how many times after that?)

This family is nuts! I saw a clip of psycho dad on Wife Swap and he was such a jerk. I feel no sympathy for these lousy parents, just for the poor kiddos.

I just saw an episode of wife swap with them on it. The dad looked like he was high!!!!! What a desperate act, they need a mental evaluation done. Disgusting.

And just how will the tax payers get their money back from the bogus search?
Jail time. They used 911 and other services while real people who were dying needed them. Pathetic.
