Megan Fox is well known for her “sassy” and sometimes over the top comments about sex, work and more – usually turning off women everywhere. She’s trying to change all that. Part of the reason women don’t respond well to her might not just be the quotes she gives but sometimes just because she’s attractive, she says.
“Girls think I’m a slut, and I’ve been in the same relationship since I was 18. The problem is, if they think you’re attractive, you’re either stupid or a whore or a dumb whore. The instinct among girls is to attack the jugular.”
She admits that she’s trying to give the men what they want to hear in interviews for men’s magazines.
“When I sit down to talk to men’s magazines, there’s a certain character that I play,”
She’s trying to reign it all in a bit.
“I have to pull back a little bit now,” Megan says at the end of the article. “I do live in a glass box. And I am on display for men to pay to look at me. And that bothers me. I don’t want to live that character.”
You can read the full New York Times Magazine interview here. It’s really insightful.
Do you think Megan is just misunderstood? Is it possible that most of that “sex pot” stuff was just manufactured by her handlers? Even things like timing break up rumors to coincide with her movie opening? I’m fascinated by the way the “machine” in Hollywood works.
