Kevin Bacon and his brother, Michael Bacon, arrived at Paradiso Restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the “Save the Mummers” event last night. Kevin and Michael are Philly natives trying to help save the Mummers Parade, a Philadelphia tradition. Their band, Bacon Brothers, is recording a special version of the title song, “New Year’s Day” off their newest CD to help raise money for the group.
The duo is also set to headline the benefit concert on December 5th. I wish I lived in that area – I’d LOVE to see Kevin play live!

That’s nice of them.
Good for them.
way to go, i hope they can make a difference!
He’s still cute…but he kind of looks like the phantom of the opera.
The Mummer’s Parade is a huge, amateur parade. It has a long history, and it’s a lot of fun to go to. If you’re in the area on New Year’s Day, check it out!
good for them for trying to help out.
Kudos to them! I grew up watching the Mummer’s and New Year’s Day just wouldn’t be the same without them.
Mummers kinda scare me.
Gotta love Kevin Bacon.
Great job Bacon Brothers!!
The Bacon Brothers are awesome an they do a little touring every year. Check out full songs and their tour schedule on their website (baconbros.com) or their MySpace page (myspace.com/thebaconbrotehrs). They have a fan page on Facebook, too. I live in the DC area so I get to see them at least once a year. They totally rock!!
