Hugh Grant Admits To Obsession

Hugh Grant says he can’t get a girlfriend because of his golf obsession.
The Hollywood bachelor has revealed the sport is his first love and he even gets up in the middle of the night to practice his swing. The 49-year-old actor told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper:
“When you say to a girl ‘I play golf’ her eyes glaze over. I do feel guilty about my golf. You know you’re a sad case when you spend your spare time reading books on putting or going on YouTube to watch slow motion golf swings.
“I’ll get out of bed in the middle of the night and practice my swing in front of the mirror. I’m obsessed and it’s destroying my life. Golf is an addiction.”
He gets out of bed to practice his golf swing? That IS an obsession... isn't it?!
The ‘Notting Hill’ star – who has previously revealed he has traveled thousands of miles to play 18 holes – also spoke about the “physical sensation” he gets when he hits the little white balls.
“I’ve decided the most addictive element is the physical sensation when in a rare moment you hit the ball flush in the middle of the club. The only thing that comes close is when I was taught to play the piano – the vibration when you hit a beautiful chord.”
Yeah, I just don't get it. But then again, I have ZERO interest in sports. Is your significant other golf obsessed? Or are YOU?

I can see his point. Golf IS addictive. I recently took lessons to play in a golf tournament and you do get a sense of accomplishment when you hit the ball right. It's a great core workout, too. Plus you get to spend the day outdoors and get some fresh air.

I have to admit when I first read the headline to this story I thought his obsession was going to be sex, cause you know that whole fiasco from a few years back. But then I read golf and thought, golf? Really?

I've never played golf, but I know plenty of people that feel the way he does. There could be worse things in life :o)

WOW I can't believe he'd rather play golf than have someone who loves him. That's interesting.

I've played golf a couple of times. It's a great game! And Hugh's right, when you hit that ball right were you should be hitting it... That feels wonderful!
I love the passionate way he talks about the game

I can think of many other reasons he can't get a girlfriend!
I still think he's obsessed with sex. He's says he's obsessed with his "swing" and with the "vibration when..you hit a chord." uh huh honey child, you keep trying to put the wool over our eyes.
he's looking rough
I can sooo relate! Well, to the OTHER side anyway...My boyfriend is a golfer and his idol is Tiger Woods and Greg Norman. He spends at LEAST 3 days a week practising, and plays a tournament every saturday. He also manages the junior golfers on sundays. He hasnt taught me to play yet, but I dont understand how males can just love golf so much...? LOL
I played golf in college. I arrived late one day and was running to the course. Everyone could see me literally running late. I was more than a bit embarrassed. While others were taking practice swings. I decided that I wouldn't allow being late to bother me as nervousness would ruin my swing. I was still running and watching the others swinging away while I started to control my mind and body. Once I arrived, I was in a good mental state. I picked up my club, watched the other whacking balls from the corner of my mind. They disappeared as got into position and put all of my energy into feeling my stance, my grip and looking at the far away hold. I was in the zone. I swung and got a hole in one then thought, "This is way too easy."
