Janet Jackson Calls Jermaine Dupri Her “Ex”

I’m guessing one of the problems in Janet Jackson’s and Jermaine Dupri’s relationship was communication? While people close to Jermaine say the couple never split, Janet said otherwise in an Atlanta radio interview this morning. Janet told the interviewer she typically doesn’t stay in contact with ex-boyfriends, but there are some exceptions.

“I’m not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that,” Jackson said.

Dupri, however, seems to be an exception. “Jermaine is one of my best friends,” she said in a sleepy voice. “I love him to death. We’re still connected. We’re still good friends. We still talk.”

According to Us Weekly, Janet and Jermaine “took a break” after they disagreed about her music career. (Huh? Okay…) Apparently they reunited for Jermaine’s birthday party last September, but it sounds like the couple still has significant issues.

“There is a still a lot of love there,” a pal close to the pal recently told Us Weekly.

“We’re there for one another,” Jackson said of Dupri. “I think it will remain that way for the rest of my life.”

Well, sometimes it works this way for couples. They were together for eight years.

I wonder if stress from the death of Michael played a part in the relationship failing?
I never really followed these two, but they seemed really close up until then. Dupri (as far as I could tell) never even went to the funeral.
