Amanda Peet Opens Up About Body Insecurities

’2012′ star Amanda Peet didn’t hold back with Self magazine in talking about how she really wants her body to look, what she does to maintain her shape, and how she stays healthy.

I want boobs, a gentle six-pack and a perky butt,” the actress, 37, tells the December issue of Self. “If I could choose an ideal body, I’d take Gisele Bündchen’s,” says Peet. “I challenge anyone to say she wouldn’t want Gisele’s body, deep down.”

She then adds, “Actually, I’d take a number of people’s bodies. I’d take Jennifer Aniston’s, too.”

Well, I think Amanda has a great body herself, but we all have our insecurities. How does Amanda take care of herself?

“To me staying healthy means doing everything in moderation,” she tells the magazine. “Eat a lot of greens, but in moderation. Exercise, but in moderation. Drink wine, but in moderation. Sleep as much as you can. And have people around you who are very funny.”

I LOVE that! Moderation really is key, I think. It’s easier said than done, but key :)

I agree with her moderation quote but that dress she’s wearing is just plain ugly.

  2. sunnyman says:

She has always bothered me. No specific reason, just grates on my nerves.

She is much better in daily life. But i am more concerned about bisexual news like those on _BiMingle.com__, there I can get to know more beatiful girls.

  4. Not so much says:

I always think of her as being mean in real life like her character in the movie Saving Silverman. She’s pretty funny but scary at the same time.

Um, I wouldnt want giseles’ anything. She’s a man stealing ho, and she is as fugly as they come. Seriously, that girl was beat with the ugly stick.

  6. ashkam says:

is having a “perfect” body really that important? the way people are imperfect is part of what makes people unique and interesting. a perfect body is definitely not worth having to do everything in moderation. i want to part of any life where i have to give up my indulgences!

I don’t really care for her too much anymore. Ever since she called people parasites because they don’t vaccinate their kids. She did apologize after but in my eyes the damage was done. One of my neighbors doesn’t vaccinate because of her religious beliefs. She even home schools her kids and she’s one of the nicest people around. I don’t think about her as being a parasite or wrong for her choices. Everyone is entitled to do what is best for their children. Please don’t turn this in to a vaccine debate.

  8. Ha says:

Why’d you bring it up then? I certainly hope your neighbor isn’t one of those nutjobs who’d refuse chemo for their child because God will heal.

  9. KissKiss says:

I’m far from perfect, but I don’t want anyone else’s body! I already feel weird when my boobs are a little bigger once a month, like they’re not really mine :D

  10. Anonymous says:

Agreed. Why can’t people jsut be happy with what they GOT. Or freakin change it. And I don’t want Gisele’s body. Geez….People who talk like this are nut bags.

  11. bgduckie_01 says:

i like how she adds “in moderation” for some of things. so true cuz some ppl over do it just to get the “perfect” body.

  12. OutInLeftField says:

I’m all for sleeping as much as I can. A lot of people don’t realize it but if you’re tired, you compensate by eating more to get energy. Getting enough sleep is really important.

  13. sweet kiddo says:

    oh so true

  14. ls393002 says:

So true! Must be why thats one of the biggest things all the health and wellness magazines tell you about losing weight. Get more sleep. Some people don’t require that much sleep, but I’m cranky if I don’t get at least 6 hours.

  15. ashmeljer says:

someone who looks like her…cant she just be happy that she is gorgeous….come on already. and she is HIGH-larious too…she cracks me up in some of her movies

  16. ooomz says:

    I’d adopt her self-care regiment. ;)

  17. Sweetsue says:

Ummm, hey “clueless” who just posted above; YOU just turned it into a vaccine debate! LOL! Nobody else mentioned it! And for the record; ANY parent who does not vaccinate their kid should not be allowed with their unvaccinate kids around vaccinated kids. Don’t let your scr#wball beliefs put my kid in danger.

  18. Cabrona says:

What’s with the hate? They said they are insulted by someone who calls other people names because of their choices. That person probably doesn’t even have kids that’s why they’re not bothered by unvaccinated kids. No reason to call her names. I’m sure we all have beliefs that others consider wrong. I know my mom thought I was a w h o r e because I had sex before marriage. She’s a very religious mexican mom and says it’s a sin to sleep around. Does that make a s l u t? Well probably but that’s a different story….

  19. Sweetsue says:

    *unvaccinated

U need 2 opposing points of view for debate. I only see one. Sounds like this person is is saying she doesn’t like peeps that criticize others for their choices. I personally think all these religious people are full of crap and are hiding stuff. Maybe someone should round them up and get rid of them so that we don’t have to deal with others beliefs. Sounds pretty intolerant doesn’t it? Right up your alley.
