Jay-Z attended the taping of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and even attended the after-party, but he was only there to look. He reportedly didn’t want the models anywhere near him, according to the NY Post’s Page Six.
A source told Page Six: “Victoria’s Secret begged, but Jay-Z refused . . . he explained it was out of respect for Beyoncé.”
Jay-Z reportedly refused to take any pictures with the models, walk the red carpet, and at the after-party he was given a private booth.
Meanwhile, so many other people wanted to get to the Victoria’s Secret models that one, Marissa Miller, had to go so far as to have “a team of mother-daughter bodyguards” to keep things under control.
Well, I’m sure Beyonce appreciates Jay-Z’s thoughtfulness

He is one of the only rapper who is actually married and doesn’t have “baby mammas” popping kids left and right. Please give the man some credit for setting some standards in his life and growing out of the whole “Big pimping” BS.

I agree that it sounds stupid. And victorias. Secret BEGGED him? Puhlease. He’s so full of himself. Everyone knows that he cheats on beyonce with his main girl on the side who he had a kid with while he was with beyoce so what is he trying to prove.
I guess you could read it as sweet, but I find more often than not the guys that behave this way are those in relationships that already have deep trust issues. It would be nice if it was a considerate, pre-emptive gesture, but the odds are it’s probably not.

He could have gone to any number of Victoria Secret stores, or shopped on line for his wife, rather than attend a fashion show featuring some rather scantily clad women. He could have skipped the after parties too, but there is no press around if he did that.

I don’t think that’s the case at all Ellie. This man is no particular man. He is in the spotlight all the time and knows how the media can manipulate this type of situation. Imo it was a nice gesture. Nothing to do with the guy not being able to control himself around other woman.
Sometimes the way to avoid cheating is to avoid certain situations. And I agree with Yayi that the media can read into images incorrectly. I think that he went to the show to get some new things for Beyonce.
