Let's Talk 2009 American Music Awards
Michael Jackson was honored with four American Music Awards (AMAs) last night.
The late ‘Thriller’ singer’s brother Jermaine Jackson paid tribute to the star when accepting the prizes for Favorite Soul/ R’n’B Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Male Vocalist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Favorite Soul/R’n’B Album for his ‘Number Ones’ greatest hits compilation, praising his life philosophy.
Janet Jackson had opened the show with a medley of her greatest hits, while Lady Gaga’s performance also proved a talking point.
The ‘Poker Face’ singer, wearing a spectacular headdress and vest filled with lights, performed songs from her new album, ‘The Fame Monster’, and used her microphone to break into a glass case containing a grand piano. As she started to play, the instrument caught fire. Typical Gaga right?
Other performers included Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z, and Jennifer Lopez, who fell over mid-way through her tricky dance routine of 'Louboutins':

Ok, here's my take on the awards...
1. God rest his talented soul, but MJ is dead and I can't understand why he won awards. What great song(s) has he released this year? I don't think people should win awards just for being dead, sorry. And the California Raisin that is Jermaine thanked Allah. You could hear a pin drop in that audience.
2. Lady Gaga looked like she was trying to channel her inner tiger. Not impressed.
3. Ja Lo done fell on her bum and it was mighty funny...and here I thought her performance was going to be a bust.
4. Whitney looked gorgeous and sounded well, even if it was a bit dramatic.
5. The Black Eyed Peas blew it up! The best performance of the evening in my book.
6. Rhianna is a gorgeous woman, but can't sing worth a lick..and the song wasn't admirable either.
7. Keith Urban's performance was nice...and I don't even like country music.
8. Jay Z and Alicia were good...getting sick of the song though.
9. Janet Jackson can dance her ass off. Love you, girl.

I worry for Taylor. She's riding so high - this is about the time the media will turn on her and start trying to tear her down.
Taylor is so overrated. She has no where to go after her pr machine over hyped her so much-no way she should have won so many awards. She mediocre at best nothing special.
Rihanna is over hyped as well I don't care for her music at all.
Award shows have no crediblity any more.
Fergie needs a neck.

Taylor is a wonderful role model...She is talented, humble and generous. Why should she give up an award that she deserves and was awarded by her adoring fans.
