Okay, former ‘American Idol’ contestant Katharine McPhee has been blonde for a few months now. Are you more used to it now? Katharine was spotted arriving in LAX after a busy Thanksgiving weekend back east! She shared her holiday plans with Fox411.
“I was just in Washington D.C., seeing Greta and filming a special for Fox News that airs over Thanksgiving,” the newly blonde singer told Fox411 at VH1′s Save the Music Big Shopping event. “It was so cool! I was singing for cancer survivors and it was wonderful to be there.
“I’m [also] singing my single, ‘Had it All’ in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I’ll be in New York all week getting ready for that and after, I’ll head home to California,” she told Fox411. “I hope to get some rest and a bit of quiet time with my family. I don’t want to do anything too crazy, but we may plan a quick ski trip.”
Katharine’s also preparing to release her second album in early January.
“It’s a cuckoo time in my life with my new record coming out on January 5th. I’m traveling so much and I can’t fully relax because I have band rehearsals,” she said. “It’s that time leading up to the first week of record release – totally crazy and exciting. I am planning on performing in L.A. and then also doing some shows in New York.”

I wonder how her husband is doing with her being so busy and away from home all the time. I have a feeling that things aren’t good for them. They are never together!
The hair doesn’t bother me as much as the Sasquatch jacket does.

She’s completely unrecognizeable as a blond. But kudos to her hair stylist–it’s difficult to get hair as dark as Katherine’s to be lifted to blond evenly, let alone without turning brassy (See a blond jessica alba for that example). It’s terrible on the hair condition, that’s probably why she had to cut most of it off.
Nevertheless, it looks nice on her.
