Meryl Streep definitely deserves this title! She sat down with Vanity Fair to talk about becoming Hollywood’s new “box office queen.”
“It’s incredible-I’m 60, and I’m playing the romantic lead in romantic comedies!” Streep says to Bennetts. “Bette Davis is rolling over in her grave.”
This is especially amazing when you consider many actresses’ careers slow down once they hit 40.
And to top it off, Meryl’s box office hits (‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ ‘Mamma Mia!,’ and ‘Julie and Julia’) are geared towards older women, not the teenagers blockbuster movies are typically geared towards.
“It’s so gratifying because it’s the audience that nobody really gives a sh*t about.”
Ultimately, Meryl is grateful to be alive and working.
“I’m very f**king grateful to be alive. I have so many friends who are sick or gone, and I’m here. Are you kidding? No complaints!”

She’s a great Actress, I recently watched Doubt, and Hopefully soon, I can see Julie and Julia. She sure does have a foul mouth, though…lol

Ms. Streep is one of the all time best in the business, man or woman, but she is as a woman one of the best of all time.. I think I have seen most every thing she does,, the younger generation in the business, could proberly learn a lot from her.. I did see Julie and Julia, and it was a nice watch, a little long,, but she made it work.. Not sure if I will go see this new one because Im not a big Rocom movie person.. anyway I hope it does well for her

60, wow. I mean, she’s not a classic sexy beauty by any stretch, but she has beautiful skin and looks fabulous!
I love her! She’s one of the most talented actresses of our time. Maybe all time. It’s Complicated looks pretty funny…I might go see it. If not, I’ll definitely put it on my Netflix list.
