Zac Efron Apologizes To Leonardo DiCaprio

Zac Efron has always made it known that he looks up to Leonardo DiCaprio. But his attempt at humor regarding the famous actor backfired when a joke didn't come out quite right.

In a new interview with Britain’s The Times newspaper, Zac said that he was joking when he told a journalist Leo’s advice to him was: “There’s only one way you can mess this all up. Just do heroin.”

“Oh my God, I can’t believe I just did that to him,” Zac said of how he felt after he saw the comments in print. “It was a joke, it was meant completely in sarcasm, but it came across so differently in print. I was devastated. I tried to call Leo and say, ‘Dude, I’m so sorry, that’s not at all what I meant to say.’ It was the worst feeling in the world.”

I'm not real clear on whether Zac made up the advice part completely? or just the wording of Leonardo really said to him?

Zac is inspired by other actors' longevity and hopes to have that same sort of staying power.

“I’m rewatching Leo’s transition, from my perspective,” Zac told the newspaper. “He is the best barometer for me. It’s amazing to see actors who have been able to sustain this for so long and keep positive, still focused on the work, still trying to make their best film.”

I wonder what Leo thought about Zac's quote? Do you think he did give Zac advice and that he just misquoted it as a joke or maybe he didn't give him any advice at all? It's all a little confusing. lol
