Jessica Alba Was Nearly Farrah Alba

Jessica Alba revealed on ‘The Lopez Show’ last night she was almost named Farrah Dawn Luisa Alba (yes, after Farrah Fawcett). Her mother looked up to the icon, but her father had other ideas once he actually saw her.

“I came out brown. And my dad was like ‘she’s not allowed to be Farrah.’ On my first birth certificate, it’s a scratch and he wrote Jessica Marie. My dad named me.”

Isn’t it funny how men often won’t say a word about something until the last minute? LOL

Well, I’m glad Jessica was named Jessica, especially since she ended up becoming an actress. She needs to be her own person, not being endlessly compared to Farrah!

Didn’t she already metion this before? Was it in the same article when she said she wanted a brown baby?

This article is recycled , I think.

And anyway Farrah Fawcett is Native American as is Heather Locklear. Dying your hair blonde means nothing, okay Jessica?

Ehmm Farrah is an arabic name .. most women with that name are “brown” because they are arabian, turkish, persian etc they are more brown farrahs than blonde ones.. ( sorry for my english,I’m from germany)

i dont see her as a farrah so her dad made a good choice in changing it. but jessica wasnt too original.

    what’s wrong with that?

  7. KissKiss says:

I think she would’ve been better of as a Farrah. There are too many Jessica’s around :)

    agree!

Oh Jessica (and Jessica’s dad), most of the Farrah’s in the world ARE brown. It’s a popular Middle Eastern name.

  10. jds says:

yeah, because Jessica is SUCH an original name.

yeah I know…jessica simpson, jessica biel, jessica stroup, jessica lange…..we always compare them because they have the same name don’t we?? why on earth would we compare her to farrah fawcett because they have the same first name? seriously.

I am not following your logic Vera. Why “especially since she ended up becoming an actress?” what does the name Jessica have to do with being an actress. And, who is “endlessly comparing her to Farrah?” No one…

Why does she always have to throw in “brown”when she’s either talking about herself or her baby? She’s always making her skin color an issue. I can’t stand her.

This family doesn’t sound like they have race issues at all. And yes, I’m being sarcastic. Why would a parent look at their child’s skin color and say ‘she’s not allowed to be Farrah?’ As if not having white skin and blonde hair makes unworthy of being named after a white person.

Luckily her career is in the toilet and with any luck we won’t have to hear any more ignorant and stupid remarks from her and her self-loathing family.

  15. Lorrie says:

Why on earth does she always mention her skin color? She’s not even “brown” she’s practically just a tanned white person. I’m darker than she is and I’m just a white chickl (holla back girls). I have Puerto Rican in my blood and am mixed, but for goodness sake Jessica get over yourself and stop mentioning your skin color. That isn’t going to make you a better actor or even more important in anyone’s book.

The cameras panned to her father after DNA test results, going to commercials and the man looked utterly destroyed to find out before a live audience that his daughter Jessica is actually only 13% mexican and 87% white. She seemed stunned as well. LOL

Um, they said 13% indigenous american, meaning native american, NOT mexican. People of Mexican descent are a mixture of european and native american (the actual ratio differs among the people). It makes perfect sense, since her mom is white and her dad is mexican-american.
