Glee Cast Attends Marshalls & TJ Maxx's 'Carol-oke' Contest

Bryant Park was the place to be on Thursday, where the cast of Glee joined Nikki Blonsky and Kimberley Locke as they helped TJ Maxx and Marshalls kick-start their holiday charity drive. Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Amber Riley were on hand to coach carolers as they sang the holiday songs we all love, with a TJ Maxx and Marshalls twist, of course.
Revelers were able to record videos of themselves singing the carols and upload them to YouTube's "Caroling Channel." $1 was donated for every video that was uploaded and the donations will go to Toys for Tots, so that kids in need can have a great holiday season, too. As if giving back isn't enough of an inspiration, entrants also got the chance to win prizes that included gift cards and a $5,000 shopping spree.
Teams of singers jumped at the chance to sing with the Glee actors, as they donned antlers and bells and belted out their favorite carols. As was expected, there were tons of screaming girls waiting for Cory or Mark to cast a glance their way. After the event, we got a chance to chat with the cast about the show. Amber Riley explained that she thought all she needed to do was sing but she's been acting since she was 10, so she sent in her audition tape. She is happy to say that, despite the great success of the show, she can still go out to dinner with her friends without being mobbed, though all it takes is one person asking her if she's "the girl from Glee" to spark attention. I am also happy to report that Cory Monteith and Mark Salling are just as super hot in person. Mark Salling deftly dodged a question about how it feels to garner so much cougar attention and focused instead on how great the event was.
Check out the carols that were recorded at the event on YouTube's Caroling Channel.
