Adam Lambert Is Welcomed Back To ABC

So ABC was afraid to have Adam Lambert on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ or on their New Year’s Eve show. Instead they’re having him appear on ‘The View.’

Okay… they’re afraid of what he’ll do, so they put him on daytime TV???

His performance will be taped ahead of time, and he is one of Barbara Walter’s ’10 Most Fascinating People of 2009,’ so it kinda makes sense, but… ‘The View’?

ABC may be bowing to pressure from GLAAD, which released a statement yesterday saying Adam was being subjected to a double standard. (You can read the entire statement after the break, by clicking on the continue reading link below.)

Well, hopefully this will end the whole controversy. It’s getting old, don’t you think?

Here’s GLAAD’s statement about ABC’s treatment of Adam:

“We appreciate ABC’s commitment to gay and transgender inclusion in other programming,” GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios said in a statement Friday, the alliance’s third in two days.

“However, let us be clear that GLAAD remains steadfast in our assertion that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard by ABC as an openly gay performer. We do not support ABC cancelling Adam Lambert’s past and future performances. We urge the community to reach out to ABC and express their concerns that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard.”

The people that don’t “get” him….I wonder if you’ve ever seen him being interviewed? He is so funny, nice, intelligent and down-to-earth. In short, he is just lovable.

  7. catsup says:

i’ve only ever seen him once, in an interview with ellen. i admit, he does seem poised and nice, even a bit charming.

  8. Scruffy says:

“he is one of Barbara Walter’s ’10 Most Fascinating People of 2009″ – Yeah right…

I think he has an amazing voice, but ever since he came out it seems like his being gay has completely overshadowed his talent. Now this all of this hoopla brings more attention to his sexual preferences and detracts from his music, which is what I thought he did not want. What a shame.

I LOVE this guy. So glad to see that he’s at least being allowed on ABC again. <3

  11. Alexann says:

I’m also glad that he will at least be on The View and on the Barbara Walter’s special. I’ve seen that stupid Britney/Madonna TONGUE kiss way MORE than I’d ever want to. Let’s see some GUYS make out for a change (if we’ve already got to see every other sort of couple)!

    Here, here, Sally!

I don’t get the “fascinating person” label. He’s a gay attention-getter, there’s about a million of those in the western part of the country alone.

  14. Ninni says:

Getting old.. I get tired hearing he’s gay, it seems it still is a big deal nowadays. I think his performance was crappy but the only thing that “bothered” me was the crotch-touching, and i would feel the same if it was done by a lesbian or a straight guy/girl, just didn’t look that nice.

Yeah. Civil rights issues get boring sooo fast. Yawn.

  16. dieselchicklett says:

    hehehe

  17. Sally15 says:

civil rights? are you posting on the right thread? No one’s civil rights were infringed upon in this story…unless, of course you mean the civil rights of music lovers. No one has the “civil right” to perform lewd acts in public. If he had done his porno act on the street, he would have been arrested. This is the low class buffoon that flipped off his audience & fans during his “performance”…is that who you’re talking about? The screeching, strutting peacock? civil rights??? wtf?!?

  18. dieselchicklett says:

I’m glad they taught the little punk a lesson now let’s move on…

  19. smp209 says:

im getting really sick of hearing about him

  20. audrey says:

I don’t get why they have to tape his performance ahead of time. It is the View…a completely different audience vibe from being the closing act on a night time awards show.

  21. Sally15 says:

Sure, real different from a prime time, long established family musical event show that had a PG rating. And don’t even start with the “too late at night for children” cr4p. 11 pm is NOT too late for preteens and teens to be up. I used to stay up to watch all these dorky shows when I was a preteen. Lambert knew damn well who & what his audience was, and he chose to flip everyone off, literally and figuratively.

I love that they are addressing this double standard, and it’s about time. About 10 years ago the media began the whole lesbian fascination, at first everyone was upset but unfortunately people started to get used to it. After a while people actually started to like the garbage, culminating with the kiss between Britney and Madonna, which was shown about a million times and is still shown today.

I’ve always hated it, homosexual activity of any kind is wrong, and especially showing it on TV, that’s my belief. But what is also my belief that double standards should not exist. I told my wife that eventually they would do the same thing with men as they did with women, and Adam Lambert proved me right.

This is just the beginning it’ll just get worse from here because people will have to admit that it’s hypocritical to let women do things and not let men. More power to Adam Lambert, I hope he makes all the Hypocites eat crow.
