Maya Rudolph Welcomes A Baby Girl

SNL alum Maya Rudolph and her director boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson welcomed their second daughter, Lucille. On November 6. Yep, you read that right: nearly One Month Ago. Maya's rep made the announcement to People yesterday afternoon.
Talk about flying waaaay under the radar! Maya chose not to find out the sex of this baby (just like with her first daughter, now four-year-old Pearl), and here's why:
"Because when you're ready to throw in the towel and you've got nothing positive to think about or feel, because you're so heavy and you want to float in a pool of salt water to be buoyant, it was nice to have something to look forward to."
Yeah, Maya describes pregnancy pretty accurately! For those of you who have kids (or want to), do you think you'd rather find out in advance (and have fun picking everything out for your little boy or girl) or be surprised?

They didn't do that back when I had my kids. I am a planner so I would want to know. I would not be on Team Green. My daughter found out for her baby a year ago. She wasn't going to tell anyone because she didn't want to receive anything in pink. She hates the color pink. In the end she did tell, she just put NO PINK on the registry.

It's sad, but some places in Canada won't tell the sex of an unborn child because they've had a lot of people want to abort when it wasn't what they wanted.

They didn't do that when I had mine, so it was a surprise. Back then you either bought stuff in neutral colors and no one really seemed to care that their babies weren't decked out in either blue or pink until after they got home and mom could go shopping.

We didn't want to know ahead of time.....we wanted to be surprised. It was fun! :)

I don't have any kids yet, but when I do get pregnant I would want to find out in advance. I wouldn't be able to wait until I have the baby to know!
Oh yeah, serving papers would suck.

Found in advance on both pregnancies eventhough I did not want to the second time.
