Andrew McCarthy To Direct Saucy Episode Of 'Gossip Girl'

Andrew McCarthy, former teen "brat pack" member, is set to direct an episode of 'Gossip Girl'. He shares that the cast of the show are much better off than he and his peers were at this age.
“They are much more savvy then we were, We were just a bunch of dumb kids running around.”
Can you imagine how things would be for them if they had been of this celebrity-crazed generation? He's probably thankful that they were famous in a less paparazzi-populated time.
He wouldn't divulge too many details about the episode he's working on.
“We have a nice episode, all sorts of juicy little things happen — the normal ‘Gossip Girl’ juicy things, I can’t give you much,” he added. “Except, there is a ‘Nine ½ Weeks’ kind of thing going on in one story line.”
Oh boy! This show gets spicier by the week! This isn't Andrew's first stint as a director - he directed a few episodes of 'Lipstick Jungle', as well.
He also has 3 upcoming movies, too!

Do you remember Andrew from the 80s and on? I think he's probably best known for 'Pretty In Pink' with Molly Ringwald but my favorite will always be 'Less Than Zero' with Jamie Gertz and Robert Downey Jr.

I think he's aged just fine! He just doesn't look like a kid any more, but none of the brat pack do. Everybody ages.
There was a time when I would have given my right leg to be with him for just one night! And my left leg.......and my parents.....sister...oh, how I loved him. Sigh.

I loved Less Than Zero also, but I loved him in Fresh Horses as well. Also with Molly Ringwald, but much darker.

At 47yrs old, Andrew did not age well at all! He looks 60ish. I still love the guy though, I had a huge crush on him at one time. I love and watched everything he's been in. It's amazing how celebs with their money and access to the best and most expensive beauty aids and good food and living large, always manage to age with rapid fire acceleration. For instance, brad pitt, george clooney etc.

I happen to think he looks good! I loved him in Lipstick Jungle, and the great chemistry with Lindsay in that show.
