Colin Firth thinks there are a lot of secretly gay actors in Hollywood.
The British star – who recently portrayed homosexual college professor George Falconer in 60s-set film ‘A Single Man’ – believes the movie industry if full of male actors who are nervous about coming out in case it jeopardizes their careers. He told Parade magazine:
“If you’re a straight actor who takes on the role of a gay man, it’s obviously not the same as being one in this business. I think there are still some constraints against being openly gay. It is to do with whatever sexual taboos are in place. In Hollywood, I know that some actors are far more circumspect about keeping that secret hidden. There are not a lot of openly gay leading men.”
We’ve all heard these rumors before. John Travolta. Will Smith. Tom Cruise…

I have some gay friends in New York and they all claim that everyone in the gay community knows John Travolta is homosexual. Not that that makes it true, I always just think it’s funny that I’ve never heard any of ‘em say the same of Smith or Cruise who also are dogged by those rumors. Anywho, it doesn’t matter when it comes right down to it.
hugh jackman, tom cruise, george clooney, john travolta, jake gylenhall…..many, many more i’d say…it’s drama, the arts, acting, even in high school that attracted the gay crowd.
i wouldn’t mind it….cept for maybe hot steamy hetero sex scenes! haha…still i don’t think i’d mind that either
I, for one, am sick of having the homosexual agenda shoved down my gullet. Of course no-one REALLY wants to watch an openly gay man as the romantic lead…totally not believable. Do I believe there are gay men in Hollyweird? You betcha, but at least they are smart enough to hide it. Not the politically correct answer, but at least I have the balls to be honest…
He’s as rite as he can be but the truth is hard to handle. Here’s another name: GEORGE CLOONEY. Not to mention the countless hip hop artists who desperately promote their straightness in movies/songs etc. Btw ALICIA KEYS is bi, so is JADA PINKETT-SMITH. JADA&WILL have what its called an open marriage. The same goes for the couple JOHN TRAVOLTA-KELLY PRESTON.
Anyway its not a problem they are gay/bi, the problem is their hypocrisy. And yes, in their youth, PITT&DEPP also enjoyed playing with other boys. Another name on the list is – incredibly, yes – JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME.
every leading man has been named at one time or another. honestly, as a movie-goer, I wouldn’t mind if the stars of a movie are gay or not as long as they make good movies
george clooney and brad pitt. think about it. the aranged hollywood marriage isn’t a thing of the past and studios are wetting their pants over their biggest stars coming out of narnia.
It could very well be true. But when it comes right down to it, who really cares what sexual orientation an actor has? They are paid to act like someone else for our entertainment for money. Their personal life and sexual life should not really be our business, even if they try to make it so, and certainly not if they choose to be closeted about it.

everyone know that Neil Patrick Harris is gay he came out a while ago.
