Drummer Travis Barker has reportedly settled the lawsuit over the plane crash he was involved in last September. The crash left both Travis and DJ AM with criitical injuries and claimed the lives of four people on board, two of whom, Chris Baker (Lil Chris) and Charles Stills (Che), were close friends of Travis.
The details of the settlement aren’t being disclosed and the documents have been sealed. Travis filed the suit last November and was asking for a minimum of $25,000 in damages, citing:
placing blame for the fatal crash on the failure of one or more tires on the runway, as well as the pilot’s “negligent attempt to abort the takeoff.”
DJ AM’s lawsuit is still pending, he (now his estate) is suing for $20 million.
I’m sure he’s just glad to put this to rest and try to move forward from here. I can’t begin to imagine the trauma he suffered mentally (and physically) from an ordeal like that. It’s just mind-boggling.

Call me superstitious, but after DJ AM died I kind of thought of the bad karma involved in suing…simply because the pilot and everyone else died. THEN DJ AM dies and I had a moment of silliness where I thought “everyone on that plane is cursed”! Kind of like Final Destination. I wondered if Travis would just drop the lawsuit. He is alive, the only one now. Time to move on.
