NINETEEN. I can’t even wrap my brain around it. Michelle Duggar gave birth to her 19th baby last night after an emergency C-section, according to a TLC rep.
“The most important thing right now is for Mom and baby Josie to get as much rest as possible,” added the rep. “The family is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes during their recovery.”
Josie Brooklyn weighed in at 1 pound, 6 ounces (so tiny!), and is in the neonatal intensive care unit. Michelle had been hospitalized earlier for a gallstone and recorded this iPhone message earlier this week.
I sincerely hope everyone does well.
But I can’t stop thinking… 19 kids!
Actually, I heard that they never dreamt of having a big family. After they had a miscarriage they made it up in their mind that they weren’t going to determine how many kids they were going to have. They would let God decide…so if God kept blessing them with children, they felt blessed to have all of them no matter how much God sent them.

the baby is so tiny. wasn’t she suppose to give birth around march or so? this seems like an old picture cuz there’s 14 kids there. that’s one big family.
Congratulations. But maybe after this scare, it’s time to stop making more babies. I mean, these people already have a grandchild, right?
You can watch some episodes of the Duggar’s show on youtube. At first I thought they were crazy, but in everyday life they seem so loving and caring that it’s hard to judge them… Hope little Josie recovers well, as well as Michelle.

I agree. I’ve never watched the actual show but from what I’ve seen of them they love the Lord and they love their children.
Who are we to judge how many children a couple does or doesn’t have? Don’t judge me because I only have one (not really my choice, if you must know), don’t judge my friend for deciding never to have any, and don’t judge these people for having as many as they want.
And before you say that the older kids are raising the younger ones, how many families to you know who don’t have older “helpers?” “Susie, go get me a diaper for the baby.” “Tommy, can you make Joey a bottle for me?” I see it with all of my friends, and I can assure you that they are good, loving, involved parents. Nothing wrong with everyone pitching in.
She’s a baby machine, when she was a little girl all she dreamt was to become a mom. I assume her private parts must be mess up.
I do hope this is a sign to them from the higher power that he is pleased they have had 19 kids but now it is time to stop. Religious or not the babies health should be a sign. I wish themthe best but please stop

i am all for children but this woman really needs to plug her hole…having all these children can be taking tolls on woman s body…plus theres is no way sibling and parental relations can be heaLTHY.you cannot divind yoyr attention between 19 kids.
I don’t understand why everyone lashes out at Octomom, but gives the Duggard family a pass. So many of her children have been kept in the ICU, and that costs taxypapers lots of money. It’s also just unhealthy at this point for her to be having children, for her and the baby.
I just watched a show on animal planet about animal hoarders. I’m beginning to see a parallel. God bless that little child. I hope she thrives.
I think this woman is disgusting and selfish. She has been brainwashed into thinking she needs to procreate and thats it, not even thinking of the toll it has on her body and her other children. Theres no way you can pay equal and loving attention to 19 children. SHAME on her and her selfish husband.

In almost every article I’ve read about them, it states that they’re not in debt, and not on welfare or any other gov’t program. This isn’t costing the taxpayers money, it’s causing them money. How they’re able to be debt free is beyond me, but I wish people would get all the facts straight before they start complaining about this family. (Once again, if you don’t care about them, don’t read about them.)
They chose to have so many kids (that they can afford) because of their religious beliefs. I can’t remember what it’s called that they follow, but they believe in having as many kids as God will allow. I do, however, agree with the majority of the people posting here: The extremely early birth of baby 19 is probably a sign from God that 19 is enough. Hoping mom and baby recover with no long term damage to either ones health.
Holy crap these kids must just march outta her!!!
Enough is enough. 19 is definitely way beyond ENOUGH.

Agreed. Especially seeing as this child is a little more than a pound. This should be a red flag to the parents to stop before they have a child who (god forbid) doesn’t make it.
I’m kind of freaked out at how alike all the kids look. But they are cuties, Especially the little baby. But there are some kids missing in that photo. They couldn’t fit them all LOL!!!! Anyway I’m thinking if she has some sort of medical condition now then she won’t be able to get any more babies.

Is it even healthy for a woman to be pregnant that much? She has been pregnant for about 14 years and she’s only 42 years old. That means as an adult, she’s been pregnant more than not. Is that healthy for her?

How sad. No matter how many children they have, everyone of them is a dear blessing. 1lb 6oz is very, very small. I send them my prayers that this baby gains weight quickly and doesn’t have many complications.
I’ve never heard of this family (I live in the UK). Are they religious? 19 kids is A LOT. Bloody hell, how do they cope?! I hope the baby is okay- such a tiny weight. I hope all the children have all the love and attention they deserve.

I have my hands filled with two! I’ve known 2 familes with 7 or 8 kids. They were the most well behaved kids I’ve ever met. The older ones helped take care of the younger ones. They didn’t parent them or lose out on their childhood, but they did help a good bit.
19 is a crazy lot but each child has an older sibling buddy that looks after them so its not like mommy is running around after 10 toddlers. ( Not to take away from that many children at all ! )
So agree! I think this was a major warning from the Divine. That poor little baby is suffering now for their greed.
