Natalie Portman Will Face Off Against Zombies In A Jane Austen Remake

Confused yet? Natalie Portman is the perfect actress to do a remake of one of Jane Austen’s classics. However, this remake of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ adds an interesting twist: zombies. It’s called ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.’

Described as an expanded version of the Austen classic, the book tells the timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers.

Portman will play feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet, who is distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy.

Well, I was just complaining about Hollywood doing so many remakes. This is a remake but with a twist I NEVER would’ve thought of! Yet Natalie’s involvement gives the project some credibility for me :)

What do you think? Are you interested?

i was soooooooo excited about pride & prejudice & zombies, but when i started reading it i was horribly disappointed. i thought it was a great idea, but really poorly executed.

  5. LindaCee says:

I don’t see in what way this book/movie ruins a classic. The classic is STILL a classic, with all it’s classic-ness intact. The new zombie version takes nothing away from the original version.

  6. Scruffy says:

urggggg another remake…. zombies??? no thanks.

  7. bgduckie_01 says:

I’ve probably read Pride & Prejudice 8 times and when I read the expanded version by Seth Smith, I couldn’t stop laughing! I’m glad they’re making a movie of the “new version”. :-)

  10. rj says:

Maybe Jane Austen herself will make an apperance. Is this suppose to be funny? If it is a comedy it will be hilarous if they make Portman fake an English accent again. This just sounds too ridculously amazing to be true.

  11. audrey says:

Someone actually wrote a book called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies giving Jane Austen co writing credit? I am stunned!

  12. USATVSUCKS says:

In the impending Zombie Apocalypse (oh yeah, it’s gonna happen, people), I would feed her piecemeal to the Zombies to save my own ass. That’s how much I like her.

You are so right! Pride & Prejudice is my favorite and I can’t imagine them ruining it like that. Zombies? You’ve got to be kidding me!

i refused to read the book or watch the movie. I think its terrible to mess with a classic like that. there is also sense and sensibility and sea monsters.

  23. lara jane says:

Yeah, it’s based on a book, so it isn’t Hollywood ruining it.

I think you Austen fans should give it a try. P&P is one of my all-time favorite books, and I loooooooooved P&P and Zombies.
