Reports in Britain say she “had the mickey taken out of her earlier in the week for looking like Gestapo chief Herr Flick in TV’s ‘Allo ‘Allo.” Did you hear about this?

If it’s not real it’s a good fake. However, I will err on the side of caution, considering, and suppose it IS real since the cause is so important. It is wrong to wear fur. Animals are killed FOR their fur, unlike leather, which is a by-product of the meat industry where animals are killed to eat, which is natural (of course there are issues with the humanity involved, but this is a seperate issue).
My argument here is that fur is taken whilst the animal is still alive, leather is not. Fur is the sole reason for the animal to die (in agony, I might add), and leather is not.
I haven’t stated here my beliefs on eating meat or wearing leather, I’m just sticking to the fur Vs leather basic argument.
Anyone ignorant enough to wear fur doesn’t deserve any reservations concerning their lack of morals. I think it’s unforgivable.

Yes, there are issues and problems with it, I agree, I wish things were better, but i DO believe that food, which is killed quickly, is not comparable to skinning an animal alive for the sake of “fashion”.

I can’t believe that in this day and age, anyone would or could wear REAL fur!!!!!! It is sooo sad. I agree with the above, “where is P.E.T.A. when you need them????”

OK, here it is. Although I don’t eat meat or leather, many people consider the fur harvesting to be the most inhumane cruel practice of all animal atrocities. The animals are NOT killed, and skinned ALIVE and conscious, tossed aside while still breathing with NO fur on them and slowly die. Now, if you go to FURISDEAD.com, PETA.com, HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE US.com, and many other sites, you can see via the videos they provide (albeit not the greatest quality because of the sneaky way in which they have to be obtained) and you may become physicall ill, as I was, to see such a horrendous act of cruelty in this supposed “humane” world. These animals are grabbed, skinned alive all the while screaming for their lives in agony. It is really VERY horrific.

Although I don’t approve of slaughtering any animal for any reason, many people feel that cows are slaughtered humanely for their meat and thus, their skin is used for leather products and this is justified.
You really should look into this more closely and form your own opinions because it really is a very emotional choice and a “personal” choice.
But no matter who you are, no one could ever say that the fur industry is a reputable one. Europe has just made buying baby seal fur (seals are merciless clubbed to death on the ice flows of Canada every Spring) unlawful and the animal rights groups are making great strides for animals in the world (not just our country).
So comparing fur to eating meat isn’t that simple. It’s a complex matter that really warrants your looking into before making a quick judgment.

What about the millions of babies murdered in the name of convenience? Save the poor little bunny rabbits, kill the children? I’m not specifically picking on you, I just like how intelligent your comment is and wanted to tack something else on…. I think that until we stop the senseless deaths of thousands of HUMANS every day, the animals can come second. FYI, babies are burned to death by strong saline or dismemberd while alive in a supposedly “humane” world. Just because we can’t hear the screams doesn’t make these horrendous acts of cruelty any less real.
