The Duggars Are Taking It “Hour By Hour” With New Baby

Michelle Duggar has been released from the hospital following her emergency C-section, but she’s still spending plenty of time at the hospital with baby Josie Brooklyn, who was born at only 1 pound, 6 ounces.

Josie is doing as well as can be expected for a baby at her age. We are taking each hour as it comes. We feel so blessed that God has given us to her and are cherishing every moment with her.”

What a wonderful attitude to have. It’s horrible whenever a baby has to remain in the hospital. My heart goes out to the Duggars.

(This is Michelle after the birth of another baby, not Josie.)

They’re saying the baby is doing better and is stable. There are still lots of potential complications, but the baby has been able to hold down some food and is doing better.

  2. bgduckie_01 says:

awww :( hope the baby will be ok.

I am a big fan of this show and for there baby I hope and pray she really makes it no matter how many kids they have it is gonna hurt if anything happens. Its all in gods hands.

This family disgusts me. Overpopulation is the downfall of our planet and people like this have 18 children- it’s selfish. Do the math on how much one child will pollute the earth. 18 kids to one couple is staggering and in my opinion, wrong.

  5. C. says:

We feel so blessed that God has given us to her

huh??? Isn’t that backwards? Shouldn’t it be her to us? That speaks to their egos and their priorities. That poor baby. May God bless her.

  6. annie123 says:

What they mean C. is that God wanted that baby on Earth and gave her the Duggar’s as parents. And they feel lucky to have been “chosen”. I know it all sounds really weird. They also believe that if she DOESN’T get pregnant, they’re preventing one of God’s children to enter the Earth. Freaky religious beliefs if you ask me. What if she doesn’t feel like having s*x one day? If that against god’s law?? These people have the OBLIGATION to have s*x all the time, CRAZY!!!!

They also believe that a miscarriage she experienced a long time ago, which they feel is a direct result of previously taken birth control although that’s unfounded, is a direct result of their sin. So, God forbid, if this child doesn’t make it, will they also view it as a sin on their part?
Furthermore, the child was born early due to high blood pressure – prewhatsitcalled – which isn’t anyone’s fault, although her chances were higher because she’s over 35. Also, she’s likely to experience the same thing with any subsequent children. I think it’s probably time for birth control…

They’re talking like the baby isn’t going to make it. Sad.

I feel that this people are blessed. They Have well loved and behaved kids they are not receiving any aide, they are full of love and God and you people needed to leave them alone. They have what god give them and believe in family and they give so much back to the world, they help others , you want to be mad look at octomom

  10. Joyce Thompson says:

I hope the baby will be fine. Do not judge lest yea be judged. I hope the whole family is well. Pray for the whole family and God’s will be done. I think the family is trying very hard to do God’s will. Please do not condem them.

  11. DonnaJ says:

I hope the baby will be ok and I hope the parents quit having babies.

she’s like a queen bee living in a hive surrounded by her worker bees.

  13. tbtrfli says:

I will pray for the baby and maybe the parents will STOP HAVING KIDS! If she got pregnant again, it would be down right WRONG. Pay attention to the 100 kids you already have… crazy a$$ people.

  14. elaine12 says:

This family creeps me out. They can call it anything they want, like serving God through procreation, but I think it’s just selfish. Selfish for the children’s wellbeing, health, attention, education, etc..

If my two kids were as well behaved, hard working, and confident as their 19, I would agree with you. The Duggars have managed to raise and provide for their children well. Why not preach to single and jobless moms to NOT have children.

  16. Anonymous says:

uuuummmmmm maybe this is the sign to STOP having babies and feel blessed by all the children you already have??

seriously….there is nothing wrong with wanting a large family. however i question the parents motives. something smells funny with these parents..perhaps the lure of fame and the noteriety for the size of their family is overshadowing the family itself.

  17. ashmeljer says:

They got lucky 18 times and had healthy kids….the odds were def stacked against this little baby. I hope she is ok…but by saying taking it hour by hour makes me think this one sick little baby….

  18. C. says:

1 pound 6 ounces at birth and then they lose weight – how could she not be sick?

  19. -ohmy- says:

I also hope the baby is ok and gets to gome home soon. I do think they need to stop having kids. 18 children – I mean really.
Their eldest son just got married and his wife got pregnant pretty much right after their wedding. I know they just had a baby and they are probably headed down the same path. I’m curious for them if it’s I a religious thing – do they not believe in birth control or do they believe children are god’s will so as long as they are able they will continue to have kids they will? So many questions!

  20. dieselchicklett says:

I know they have some religious belief about not using birth control but if I was her I wouldn’t even let my husband LOOK at me much less touch me again!!!

I am really praying for baby josie and the family. I am a huge fan of this show and watch it whenever I can. I don’t think its wrong to have that many kids if you came from a large family yourself, infact they are a debt free family who dont get welfare or take the working people’s taxes. To some who say it’s wrong should look at yourself, you probably can’t afford to take care of the kids you have now because you choose not to work and collect welfare and our tax money. Maybe if you watched you would see they are a normal family like a lot of families out there who have kids. Look at your family before you judge somebody elses.

  22. nope says:

Maybe you should do a little more research on the family you adore. Does one woman care for all 19 kids? Nope. Do they hire a nanny to help out? Nope. Who takes care of all those children? The older children. Everytime a new kids is spawned, an “older” child is assigned to care for and educate the little one. Yeah, that’s a great system. They don’t need government assistance because they have an internal sweatshop going on. Great.

The Duggars have managed to create a family that bucks modern day practices. The are close and supportive of each other. The children are raised with old fashioned ethics and work habits that will carry them through life successfully. I truly believe the critics need to look at how they are raising their own families. If the family can afford the children, they are well taken care of, receive a good education, and are productive citizens, what’s the problem?
