With the release of ‘The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus’ just 2 days away, Jude Law sat down to talk about what it was like stepping in to help finish Heath Ledger’s last movie.
“When I got the call, it was a double tug,” Law says of joining the cast of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. “I liked Heath very much as a man and admired him as an actor. To help finish his final piece of work was a tribute I felt compelled to make.”
I’m sure working on this film was a bittersweet experience for all three actors that took on the role. Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp also stepped up to the plate. For all, it seems a mixture of love and respect for both Terry Gilliam and Heath Ledger were motivation for the men to do the movie.
“To help Terry finish his film was an honor paid to a man I adore,” Law says. “Though we were all there in remembrance, Heath’s heart pushed us with great lightness to the finish.”
The movie, which Terry Gilliam has dedicated to Heath, opens in limited release on Christmas Day, and then January 8th it opens nationwide.

You know there is no god when a ray of light like Heath is taken from us way too early, and bags of flesh like Tila McLeprechaun are still wasting good oxygen.
I’ve been hearing about the movie but had no idea what it’s about. Based on its IMDB write up, it sounds interesting. I’ll probably check it out in the new year.
I really want to see this movie, and they got great men to pick up where Heath left off. Thye’ve all got this slightly surrealistic aura about them, though i’m not sure how Colin’ll do in this film, i hope it’s spot on
Colin is the best part in this movie!
I saw it because it already has been released in France abut 2 months ago and iyt’s quite amazing. I felt like i was in Terry Gilliam’s head. All of the 4 actors are great, even if we don’t see much of Depp.
I read in a magazine that all three gave the money they made from the movie to Heath’s daughter, Matilda. If that’s true that’s very nice of them!
