Taylor Momsen Says She Gets “A Bad Rap” For Being Like Lindsay Lohan

Taylor Momsen opened up to Seventeen magazine but not in the most tactful way. Although if you read what else she says, it’s not quite so bad. Kinda.

I get such a bad rap for being like Lindsay Lohan,” Momsen says in the February issue of Seventeen magazine.

Momsen then qualifies her Lohan diss, saying, “I hate naming names because she’s really sweet — and I’m really not. I don’t go out. I have no desire to be some tabloid party girl. I’m entirely a loner. I have been my entire life.”

Um… backhand diss there, calling Lindsay Lohan a “tabloid party girl”? I get the impression Taylor dug herself into a hole she couldn’t quite get out of :)

Taylor does agree that she’s “angsty.”

“I’ll be angsty until I’m 80 years old,” she quips. “I think that keeps things fresh. But I always think angst is such a derogatory word toward teenagers. It just means you’re figuring s*** out.”

But Taylor’s not figuring things out: she already knows.

“[People] think most 16-year-olds don’t know what they want to do. But I actually really do, because I’ve been thinking about [music] since I was 2.”

Actually, to me Taylor sounds like most teenagers: they tend to think they know everything there is to know- LOL.

I suspect Taylor’s “bad rap” comes from her wardrobe choices, which is a rather superficial way to judge someone. What do you think?

I think you right. Just because you have money at 16 doesn’t make you any smarter than most 16 year olds. I just hope she stays away from drugs.

When you walk around in suspenders and a no-skirt skirt when you are 16yrs old, what does she expect.

i dont really mind what she said about lindsay. Lindsay is a destroyed actress. Lindsay has nothing coming for her. Taylor looks like she has a good future and a better music career then lohan.

Um, she sort of still a “little” girl, she’s only 16. I’m sure if someone stuck a microphone in your face at 16 you’d say some pretty silly things too.

Typical teenager. Feel sorry for her because she can’t act like an idiot without the rest of the world knowing about it.

At least Lindsay Lohan used to have talent. What does this twit has she and everyone of her co stars combine are not successful in helping raise the rating for their TV show that they are forcefully milking off for publicity. She and her costars love the parties the freebies the pho ops and magazine but frankly what are they famous of.

it’s a fact people judge others the within the first seconds of meeting them and that’s based on how you choose to represent yourself based on the clothes you were. Superficial or not it is the deciding factor with regards to whether or not you want to talk to someone. This girl needs to wear more age appropriate clothes – a garder out in public…she really wonder’s why she has a bad rep. If any grown women wore that to go out walking in the streets she would get the same label, it’s to sexy and attention hungry for the wrong reasons.

she gets a bad rep for dressing like a slut.. not because of lindsay lohan… grow up LITTLE girl.

    i like what you said.

I can understand her point of view on the Lohan thing, she hasn’t shown any signs of being like LiLo just yet, to me the clothes don’t count, but i do think some of her clothes are a bit too much (or too little), but that’s somewhat to be expected of a teenager, esp. when she has the access to all kinds of stuff. She sounds like any teenager, her mind is set and her goals clear, and she’s reasoning her angst so that the adults couldn’t belittle her. Actually i don’t think she should be belittled, i think it’s good to have clear views and not worry weather they’re gonna change in time, that happens to adults as well. Also the angst, often you lose it growing up, but maybe she won’t, and either way it doesn’t matter. Teens should be proud of what they are and not care about the elders who’ve “been there”. Every mind is different anyhow.

If it walks like a hooker, and dresses like a hooker…

You know I remember way back when Lindsay was still kind of a newcomer – I’m pretty sure it was before “Mean Girls”.. I read some random teen magazine that was interviewing her along with many of the teen crop at the time… And Lindsay made it pretty clear that she enjoyed partying, liked being in the tabloids and that was her intention. I was kind of impressed with it at the time because she was very adamant about it – saying things like she wasn’t going to try and pretend she was a homebody because it’s not true.

So I don’t think calling Lindsay a tabloid party girl was in any way derogatory.

I say this every time I see Taylor…I just cannot believe she is the same, cute little girl from The Grinch. Wish she would put some pants on too. She dresses sleazy, ick.

  16. audrey says:

When your outer person is the one the world sees as a first impression it would be easy to dismiss her as a teen tart. Wearing pants and/or a skirt would perhaps staunch some of those unwanted comparisons.

  17. debbie dlb says:

she should get a bad rap for not wearing pants.

  18. Anonymous says:

she is very pretty…but i can’t figure out why she wears shirts as dresses?

  19. Em says:

She needs to invest in some pants.

I seem to recall that Lindsay Lohan used to have a great work ethic too (then White Oprah encouraged her baby to party more to get more press . . . )
