Twilight Saga’s Fourth Installment Could Start Filming In Fall

Wyck Godfrey, the producer of the Twilight movies says that Breaking Dawn, the fourth movie in the Twilight Saga could start shooting in Vancouver this fall already. The script isn’t ready, there’s no director yet and it’s not yet known if the movie will be split into two installments, but the most important ingredient is there: all 3 lead actors are signed on to do it. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner have all said “yes” to movie #4. Wyck said that Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote the other 3 scripts, is busy working on Breaking Dawn and it’s “a work in progress”.

On the possibility of it being broken up into two movies:

“The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it’s organic. If it’s not organic, I don’t think it will be done, and if it is, it will be. It really has to do with how much level of detail from the books there is, with all of these new vampires that appear in ‘Breaking Dawn,’ the whole section about Jacob… It’s a very long single movie if it does become a single movie.”

He said he doubts that ‘New Moon’ director Chris Weitz would come back:

“I think everyone would be happy and excited if he came back, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

Stephenie Meyer posted this message to fans on her website today, weighing in about the one movie vs. two movies debate:

January 12, 2010

Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We’re all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip gets fabricated to stir things up, but there’s no basis to this particular story.

Steph

Are you excited about seeing ‘Breaking Dawn’ come to life on the big screen? Would you rather watch one long movie or see it as two installments?

It seems like the ‘New Moon’ mania has just died down and now the frenzy over‘Eclipse’ is kicking into gear; the movie is due out June 30th. Then it will be on to the craziness of ‘Breaking Dawn’. I’m sure the actors will be glad to take some time off after the series is done.

Can’t wait! For Breaking Dawn. New Moon was a trillion times better than the first movie. I wish they would remake Twilight, haha!

I think to do it justice, it should be done in two movies. The wedding and honeymoon in one part and the birth and fight in the other, or something alone those lines. Plus it would make all more money.

Love it all, can’t wait for Eclipse it was my favorite book. Breaking Dawn could be 4 hours long and I would still sit through it multiple times. I’m just sayin’ it doesn’t matter to us die hards as long as we get the book in a movie form.
