Celebrities Received WHAT During The Golden Globes?

Celebrity guests at the Golden Globe Awards were given free micro-pigs.

Attendees at the prestigious awards ceremony last night found vouchers in their goody bags for the new must-have pet. If they decided to collect on the animal, they will have to take a class about how to look after the tiny animal.

Talk about RANDOM.

Usually the miniature farmyard animals cost $5,000 to buy but Patty’s Royal Dandie Miniature Pet Pig offered the pigs free of charge.

Patty Morrisroe, owner of the company, insists pigs are a great pet and even said Paris Hilton is a great pet owner.

“As soon as we took the pig to Paris they bonded. It was an instant thing.”

In addition to the pet vouchers, guests were given an additional $500 worth of other goodies in their free designer bags including:

Euphoria perfume by Calvin Klein
L’Oreal cosmetics
InStyle’s ‘The New Secrets of Style’
Euphoria for men
Custom shirt by Alexander West
Gentleman’s style book
DVD directed by Martin Scorsese

Would you ever own a micro-pig? I heard they are clean and smart. I’ve seen a few families walking these animals around Brooklyn and it’s always quite a show!!

That is just DISGUSTING. Just another sign that this country does not regard animals with any kind of respect AT ALL. These are not accessories that once you’re tired of playing with them or the new wares off that you can just cast them aside. They’re living breathing animals with needs. And the Micro thing is EXACTLY like the Teacup thing. MYTH. They are just smaller pig often the product of over breeding to get them that size. It seriously makes me want to vomit. What the F are people thinking?? Thank you Paris Hilton for making yet another animal popular and dooming MILLIONS of them to death.

Was Paris there to grab onto any of the unwanted vouchers? Seriously, there is all kinds of wrong about offering up small animals as a gift. There are celebrities who will most likely cash it in without doing any sort of research on them and in a few months the animal shelters will be full of unwanted micro pigs. Shame on Hollywood for being so callous and unthoughtful.

  3. DebbieinParadise says:

How did Kate Hudson walk in those shoes?

  4. lis says:

I wonder how many people will cash in for the pet pig? At least the voucher says they have to take a class in how to care for it…

They were the best Golden Globes. There were no Brangelia.

  6. OutInLeftField says:

That guy said Paris Hilton is a good pet owner. LOL

  7. sweet kiddo says:

did i get right ? they are giving away piglets as “gift” ? wow !!
but if the people can really take care of them and give them a better home than maybe it’s not a bad idea after all

That’s disgusting. I’m not a huge animal lover, and I certainly don’t like PETA, but I can’t WAIT to hear what they have to say about this…

  10. smp209 says:

that picture is adorable! but i don’t think that’s an appropriate gift…

Actually the picture that is shown here is not even a Royal Dandie piglet!
Just to set the record straight….
The Celebxs were gifted with Truffle Salts. Afew giftcertificates were give to those who were extremely interested in thes little pigs only. The piglet that was at the gitying lounge was a 6 month old not a young piglet.
We were there to educate the public and anyone interested in learning about the care of these our little pigs. They will have their piglet hand delivered and complete a traing course on the proper care for their piglet. The piglet will not be left with anyone if we don’t feel it will be an appropriate home.
No Piglet will end up in shelters as we will take any piglet back for any reason.
PETA information was provided by PETA for everyone who received an certificate.
Please know all the facts before you give your opinions!

  16. I wish I were exaggerating when I say this—oh, alright,

  17. wow !!

  18. treat animals like people too. it is really hard to accept seeing someone treating animals unfairly. they should get what is the right way of treating. they need a home and mostly a love from people. not just to be treated as a pet but a family.

  19. Micro and Teacup animals are simply the runts of the litter OR they have been bred over and over and over to GET an animal that small. Often they have horrible health problems and die super young. THANK YOU Paris Hilton for endorsing yet another animal that people are going to want, not take care of, and dump on a shelter somewhere.

  20. i don’t see what’s so wrong about it. it’s not like they are just given live pigs at the ceremony and have to take it. and that thing is adorable!

I’ve had a royal dandie for 2 yrs and have to say that she’s extremely healthy, loving, is loved and cared for, and is the size of a lap dog. This is the real thing…I just hope, like any other animal, that they go to a good owner who understands that pigs are a major commitment.. The breeder is very good about making sure that is the case.

That’s DISGUSTING. They are not just some random thing like shoes, or a hat. They are a living thing, and should be treated with respect and not considered on par with a “give-away” item.
