George Clooney Jokes About Upcoming Airport Security Measures

Did you hear about the new technology that's going to be introduced in airports? They are hoping to install body scanners that will be able to see through passengers' clothing in an attempt to find weapons easier. The problem is... the images will be R rated right? The operators will see everything!! George Clooney wants someone to come up with a way to shield... his manhood.
The 'Up In The Air' actor thinks he will be subjected to many more security checks by inquisitive airline staff and is thinking of taking drastic action.
"It is a concern. I have nothing to hide of course but nobody likes to be taken advantage of. I think there could really be a market for some special underwear to protect us all from that kind of exposure because it is a little disconcerting."
Meanwhile, George is SHOCKED at how many celebs have agreed to man phone lines for the telethon he is hosting tonight to raise money for the victims of earthquake-hit Haiti.
"You got about 130 to 140 actors, athletes, singers and television hosts, and they're all coming up not to be on TV, but simply to answer the phones.
"It'll be the biggest bank of faces that you recognize answering the phones. And that will be streamed live on the Web the entire time. So if you call and you get Daniel Day-Lewis on the line, you can wave at him, and you'll see him. It'll be kind of funny, actually. I told everyone to say they're Daniel Day-Lewis."
Will you be tuning in?

We've got them over here at the moment in Manchester on trial... I haven't gone anywhere abroad so haven't used one. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8303983.stm

I will be watching for awhile. I will probably call to donate. I agree with him regarding the body scanners. I am not happy with it. I think if you are a celebrity you most certainly could be taken advantage of. I remember getting frisked because my sweater set off the alarm. I told the woman after someone feels me up like that, I usually at least get dinner out of it. No sense of humor. Of course she probably hears comments like that all day long.

I'll definitely watch.
As for the scanners - sounds like invading of one's privacy, i do understand though the need in them. George's suggestion isn't half bad, the special underwear would be a plus and not only for celebrities , but for not so famous people too:)
Security is important but when those people who plan attacks want to do something it will probably be unexpected or maybe they will just give up. I am happy I don't like to travel. Who wants to travel and be scanned inside and out? That's too much, that's invading private property.
Poor George! He still hasn't gotten over DDL winning the Oscar in 2008, when he thought all he needed to do was to trot out that Las Vegas escort he hired as a girlfriend back then! Too bad his smugness shines through in this kind of tasteless jokes.

That's not a thing one can joke about.
Terrorism is real and scary, so I wouldn't care if they decide to strip people naked at the airport, as long as we travel save......
