Jessica Simpson is putting her best foot forward to help Haiti. She has teamed up with charity organization Soles4Souls to collect at least 50,000 pairs of shoes in 50 days. The shoes will then be distributed to earthquake victims in Haiti.
The website is already at 19,636 pairs of shoes! According to the site, a donation of just $5 pays for TWO pairs of shoes. That’s pretty incredible – you can barely get a pair of shoe laces for 5 bucks!
I’m sure these shoes are very much needed. Can you imagine all of the glass and debris in the streets?

I think this is great campaign, and will be spreading the word to my friends as well. For only $5 you can help 2 people. When you don’t have a lot of money yourself this is a great way to help out. Thanks for posting it!
It’s not because of glass and debris, it’s because the majority of the people in Haiti don’t have shoes. I’ve been on a mission trip to this area. Shoes are one of the most important things you can give them.
I think this is awesome and it’s really wonderful to see people reaching out in different directions to help.
Ugly house.
So, what, you’re wishing an earthquake on them?
What a great idea.
This is a great idea…great information
Good for them.
I heard on the radio about Jessica Simpson’s effort in raising shoes for Haiti and was unsurprisingly disappointed. Americans: STOP SENDING GOODS! SEND MONEY! Do you think the Haitians are worried about how their feet feel while they are getting a meal once every three days?! There is absolutely no need to be sending clothes when this is most definitely not their first concern. We need to sustain life in Haiti, not glamorize it.Consider where your resources are going please, and do your homework before jumping in to help.

There are plenty of great newspaper articles to justify. Just pick up New York Times’ Teaching Americans What Haiti Needs: Money from Jan 20.
I think it’s awesome that she’s teamed up with Soles4Souls, I’ve heard of other companies donating shoes as well. I read on Chinese Laundry’s twitter page that they’re donating 38,000 pairs! Love hearing these stories!
