An insider said that producers of the hit Fox show say Stern, America’s highest-paid radio personality, is their top choice to take over from Cowell, who leaves at the end of this season. They approached the King of All Media after he repeatedly mentioned on-air that his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January and he was open to other offers. Cowell was paid $50 million a year.
A source connected to “Idol” said, “It’s one of the few shows that could compete with Stern’s $100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and ‘Idol’ bosses think he’d be even nastier than Simon.
That would be… awesome. I MISS Howard ever since he left free radio. I am not a Sirius subscriber, so I’ve done without. But BOY would it be nice to have Howard back. Do you think Howard would be a honest judge?

He’s a shock jock. WTF would Idol want with him? Especially when his price tag is so high? It doesn’t make much sense.

“Both know NOTHING about music though” I could be wrong, but I believe Howard started out as a disc jockey and also held some sort of talent shows earlier on in his career. While it may not make him a musical maven, I think he knows a bit about music.

i don’t watch AI and am not a fan of Howard’s but I’d definately tune in if he was a judge. the ratings would go through the roof. Howard’s fan are VERY loyal.
im surprised they would consider an R-rated media celebrity to do a family show mostly watched by teenagers & kids. Somehow i dont see his fans following to such a show AI, two totally different crowds IMO.

I don’t care about Howard Stern but Gordon Ramsay would be funnier than funny. Get that man on AI, then maybe I’d watch it.

i think howard’s fans will follow him wherever he goes. i know alot of grownups that watch AI.
great, so he’d have all the girls strip down before they could sing and he’d judge them on their bodies and not thier voices. bad choice. I can’t believe people pay to listen to him
