Keira Knightley is Elle magazine’s cover girl for the March edition. She chatted about her acting ability being constantly questioned, her upcoming film and her current role on stage.
Keira’s thoughts on her character in The Misanthrope:
“Jennifer’s kind of a crazy mix of being a complete bitch-confident and terrifying-yet she’s incredibly young and is probably being exploited way more than she actually realizes.”
On her acting ability being called into question:
“Oh, they still say that! Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, ‘How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you’re a s–t actress?’ “
Can you imagine being asked that? At least she can joke about it!
She also shared about on-set arguments during the making of her upcoming movie “Last Night”, (which is about cheating):
“When we were making it, the arguments on set were just amazing about whether mental infidelity is better or worse than physical infidelity. There was a huge gender divide on the question. Every single woman said that mental infidelity is 10 times worse than [an emotionless assignation]. And most men I spoke with said that it’s the physical act that would be the ultimate betrayal.”
Sounds like some spirited debating was going on.
She’s always so blunt and honest in her interviews and never seems full of herself. I love that about her.

I really, really love Keira.
I love Keira and I think she’s a great actress. That photo of her looks really weird though. The way her head is posed looks really funny on the body. Like they took her head from one picture and put it on her body from another picture. Odd.
I always enjoy her interviews. She seems to have a pretty realistic view on things, considering.

I love her. I think she’s a great actress and extremely underrated. She really gave beautiful performances in the Duchess and Atonement and I don’t know why she wasn’t nominated for Academy Awards for either or both of those roles. Here’s to hoping she’ll bag another nomination soon!
