Jessica Alba Hated The Idea Of Getting Married

Now this is something you don't hear women saying every day! Jessica Alba confessed to UK Cosmopolitan magazine that she had a hard time coming to terms with the idea of marrying Cash Warren because she did not want to vow to "obey" her husband. (Doesn't she know you can have "obey" taken out of the vows these days?)
"I had a hard time agreeing with marriage at all because I feel like its been warped. Originally, it was two families coming together to make a stronger family. It was about survival – not love or soulmates. And now the way they market marriage – even as a kid through Disney movies – is that it's all about Prince Charming sweeping you off your feet.
"There's this mentality that you need the big dress and the big day – the day every girl gets to be a princess. I didn't agree with any of that. This tradition of obeying your husband like he's your king? It's a load of crap. Love and honour, yes. But you should love and honour yourself too, and all your friends."
What changed Jessica's mind? Knowing she and Cash were committed to each other.
"I chose to get married because, essentially, you're given a deck of cards in life. The hand you were dealt with is your family and you can't choose them.
But the one person you can choose to bring into your life as your family and to have that unconditional love with is your husband and wife. I'm choosing you as my family and we're going to love each other through thick and thin."
That is a wonderful way to look at marriage! I'm glad Jessica was able to reframe it for herself :)

I thought they got married because she was pregnant? Did he not cheat on her at some point before mariage as well?
yup that is what I thought as well and that she had broken up with him bc he was the one who did not want to commit.
LOL Yeah me too. She got knocked up and ~allegedly~ was going to kick him out if he didn't marry her before the baby arrived. They made it to the courthouse a few weeks before the baby was born.

I feel the same way about marriage. When my now husband asked me may first response was WHAT. He asked again and I said yes. Then we didn't talk about it. LOL. Two weeks before Valentine's day 5 years ago he said he wanted to get married then. Obey was not in our vows.

I don't believe her.... they broke up because he didnt want to marry her and cheated on her!! Gosh, this girl is annoying,...
It's so interesting to hear these actresses and super models belittle the 'big day', 'Princess ballgown' thing. They dress up in lavish ballgowns and play brides for a living.
I did say obey! and submit! I even got submit engraved in my wedding band along with love and respect. maybe I'm waaaayyyy old school but when it comes down to it, my husband always has the last say in our house but I'm fine with that since I really trust him. Thankfully he goes with my opinion more often than not so usually we're both happy.

This might be her opinion and she's entitled to it, but to me it all sounds like BS. There is nothing wrong with getting married with a beautiful dress and the whole nine. You should do what makes you happy. Who said anything about "obeying" a husband anyway. I was brought up with the idea that a woman should live her life and accomplish her own goals before becoming anybody's wife. I get everything she's trying saying, but to me she's full of crap.
She seems bitter because she got married at the courthouse at 8 months pregnant. Serves her right. Cash only proposed in the first place because she was knocked up. Now she wants to rewrite history? Uh huh.
she is so annoying...her and Kim Kardashian are the most annoying celebs out there....she always says the stupidest things in the world....get over it woman--the only reason why CAsh married her is for him to live a comfortable life...oh and don't even give me that he comes from a hollywood family...I don't even know who his dad was..he seems like a grounded guy and don't understand what he saw in her...she's like a bitch and dumb--2 bad combos in a woman

Cash Warren probably got on his knees and begged her to marry him! And any man that comes home to Jessica every night, has no reason to cheat!
